Lord of Brentford?

The name of the distinguished Lord Sterne of Brentford has come to my attention... following some light reseach into Lord Hannay of Chiswick(Bedford Park) where he resides (still?).. and after listening to Lord Tony Young  of Norwood Green give a tribute speech at a Hampshire funeral yesterday.Lord Young is very well known in Norwood Green and his lovely wife too.The distinguished Lord Hannay of Chiswick has served the UK at the United Nations and lives/lived in Orchard Road W4.Lord Sterne of Brentford was born in Hammersmith apparently, went to Latymer.. and choose the Bees link. Was he aware of Brentford FC's elevation to the Premier Division!A serious enquiry..and with respect... what is the gentleman's link with Brentford?

I was looking at the review of a book about how a village in India changed as the years went by just this morning.Baron Stern also wrote this review for the Govt in 2006 I think.  It is rather sobering considering we are now in 2022 and we still have a real fight to free ourselves from the climate change deniers and pro fossil fuel lobbyists within Govt:https://www.lse.ac.uk/granthaminstitute/publication/the-economics-of-climate-change-the-stern-review/

Nick Stern (no E) grew up in Somerset Road in Brentford.His late parents were active members of the Labour Party. Marion, amongst other community voluntary work was a magistrate. Bert may, at one time have been a Labour councillor. When they bought their house in Somerset Road, the land behind it came with the house - the service road with council garages about to be developed. This additional land they either gave or sold to the council for a song as they didn't need it. At one time I believe Nick worked for the UN and his brother for the World Bank. Their sister Naomi lived in Brentford for some years after their parents' death. Nick Stern is best known as the economist specialising in climate change. He was a prof at LSE.

Interesting stuff on Wikipedia. "Stern is the son of the late Bert Stern and Marion Stern and nephew of Donald Swann—half of the Flanders and Swann partnership."
