Incident in Brentford Lock?

I walked my dog down the towpath towards Brentford Lock around 4.30pm. We passed the Riverside Clinic and the other offices beside the clinic.  Where the towpath bends to the right, a policewoman was standing behind a ribbon barrier stopping people from going any further.  I asked her what had happened but she said she could not talk about it. Does anyone know what was going on?

Thanks to everyone that responded. I saw the incident that related to the woman, bless her, but there was another more recent incident regarding an older gentleman. Terrible business!

I am pretty sure that there has been a much more recent incident which I believe reading was the body of a man.

Bradley, all I know is that she was a Polish lady called Ewa. I believe she was a carer and think she lived on a boat. She was a very nice person, I sometimes met her on the towpath when walking my dog. There was a floral tribute laid to her on the towpath between the Great West Road and the currently unusable bridge over the canal to Boston Manor park. I assume it is still there but haven't walked that section for a while because of the bridge problem. I never found out if her death was an accident or something worse.

Can’t find any follow up stories regarding this. Was it a local person? Were they named?

I hope your friend has informed the police about this man.Even if he is not part of what happened to the unfortunate person found dead,they may want a description of him.

Hi Joy,  Maybe unrelated but a friend was walking in the same area around 4ish yesterday when she became aware of a man following her. She let him pass but he kept looking around. She waited until another woman came along and asked her if she could walk with her.

Just heard that a body was pulled out of the canal this afternoon. Very sad.
