I spoke to a lady at LBH on Thursday to report 2 abandoned cars in our road. Notices were put on by Friday and both cars removed yesterday Monday. Well done Hounslow !

You are spot on mate!!Yes still using the Screen the printer packed up so bought a new oneThanks
Simon......call me what you want. Not sure if these signs work or not in other boroughs but if you are a ''Genuine local resident'' then you possibly run the risk of getting fined/prosecuted/evicted/asbo'd by the local council if you continue to carry on.Chances are these are ''Fly by nights'' who have no respect for the local community etc & do their dealings on a mobile so cannot be traced/tracked down!!P.S. Is the screen/printer still working which I dropped off to you some months ago?
Kevin..hope its ok to call you by your first name.Anyway yes the cars parked by the Roundabout by TescoI was told by Highways they were thinking of putting these kind of signs up but havent do they work in other areas??Cheers mate
Sorry Simon but got the wrong end of the stick. Are these the cars that are usually parked up along the road by the mini roundabout next to Tescos?I have driven through other boroughs i.e. Brent, where I have seen specifically made signs put out on the footway by the local council advising/warning that ''Street dealing/selling is illegal & could lead to prosecution'' or words to that effect.Maybe/is this something which Hounslow are not doing?
This isn't about Abandoned cars but about the legal selling of Cars. There is a gentlemen who for years has been selling cars along Mogden Lane somedays over 10 vehicles at once parked in front of Each other.I have spoken to Highways at Hounslow Council who say they are aware of the problem but cant do anything except go down and put posters on the cars saying its illegal, but the seller just rips them off.I then spoke about it at the ICSF meeting several wks ago and the community police officer said they have been trying to stop him doing this for years but he just ignores them, he said he would sticker themI say put fines on them or tow them he soon will stop it if Highways and the Police keep doing this I mean they are parked on a single yellow line. With the new laws in where they can tow away illegal parked cars does this represent those selling cars on a Highway illegally??

..oh well you should have suspected that this was coming - since the traffic warden visited the development with the pavement parking - the guy has parked on the road. Only took 14 months or so!

Isn't there a campaign to get rid of abandoned cars and Hounslow is taking part in it? I must say that the removal of abandoned cars has been pretty quick by Hounslow, for a number of years.
Sorry, don't have the lady's name with me but if you ask to be put through to speak re Abandoned cars. You'll need to give the registration number, make, colour, whether it's taxed or not and location.

PatriciaWould you be so kind as to give me the name of the officer, either via this forum of by means of a PM?There are many abandoned cars which local people in Isleworth have been trying to get removed without nearly as much success. This officer sounds like a person we should be speaking to.
