How much does it cost to replace a kerb stone?

From a reliable source.One of these developers who are (supposedly) working their way around the area had a delivery of some sort of aggregate today - in the middle of the road.The first that ‘reliable source’ knew was a lot of shouting outside - so they popped their head out to see a lady with a camera (I had nothing to do with it chaps - or else you would see the pictures on here) and an official ID around her neck (that definitely counts me out) gesticulating at the builders.‘Reliable source’ was of the opinion that the gesticulation was in a universal language surmounting the difficulties of nobody being on the site in charge and able to discuss issues in English.  Lady called up some troops on her mobile and a man arrived and stood making similar semaphore signals – 1.  Arm pointed towards pile covering the road2.  Arm swung over his head 3.  Arm pointed towards front garden of house under development.This carried on until it was getting quite dark, and pile was removed from the road.Now, how to stop it happening again?

I was out and about the Friday before last,  delivering leaflets for the Scout bazaar (which is on Saturday at Isleworth & Syon School, doors open at 1.45).Where there is building work there is generally smashed slabs (wherehaveIheardthatbefore?).  One pavement area (in Hartham Road) was particularly memorable so I toddled back this afternoon to see if it was still there and took the following photos for you to peruse.  Crossing the road at this point, in the dark will be a hazard after the skip is removed.We cannot say HOW it happened – WHEN it happened – or WHO caused the damage - the only certainty is that the pavement purse will pick up the tab.
