Where does Brentford start and begin near Kew Bridge.

In recent times the Brentford East Ward Bounderies have changed.Those imposing apartments  at Kew Bridge seemingly have TW8 postcodes but yet are part of the newish CHISWICK AND GUNNERSBURY WARD!Are those occupiers, many who would be newbies to the area, Brentford folkor Chiswickians?Has this been an Estate Agents and developers ploy to reclassify or upgrade their activities...or a political one to prop up the Conservative vote in Chiswick?

My understanding (somebody told me) that the southern bit of Lot's Ait is in Surry/Richmond

And Brentford Ait is in Surrey Raymondand Lot's Ait in Middlesex!

Quite true but it is purely geo-political for administrative purposes.Another shining example is often on the Train describers on SWT linesAshford ( Surrey) - always indicated as such so as not to confuse it with Ashford, KentHowever, Ashford is in Middlesex and on the Middlesex side of the Thames.But it's administered by Surrey .Kew is Surrey, Brentford is Middlesex but they both carry a TW- Twickenham Postcode

So,for example, regarding Bill's Army Surplus Shop at 510 High Street, Brentford TW8. Would he now be in the Chiswick Riverside Ward... like those lavish apartments across the road.Where could I look at a map for clarification. Can the new Brentford East Councillors post here and let us know

Nothing to do with Hounslow. All decided by the Boundaries Commission for Local Government.

But these are simply made up names for wards that actually bear no relation to the true local names.Ealing has a raft of wards with names of streets and local places but very few bear any relation to the areas the wards really fall in.Maybe Hounslow ought to pick a landmark name for wards rather than the continual reinventing of rather tenously named districts and return the true names to each district with the addition of a bit of Civic pride to each .

The homes near Kew Bridge have been rezoned as part of Chiswick Riverside. Lionel Road North and Popes Lane have been rezoned as part of Chiswick Gunnersbury ie the old Turnham Green ward with a chunk of Brentford added.The original proposal from the boundaries commission suggested that Chiswick was reduced from 9 seats to 8 (and there were other things I disagreed with, such as the fact that what people think of as Brentford town centre was previously always in Syon)I believe the Conservative argument was accepted whereas my proposal was ignored, so we ended up with Brentford centre being called Syon and Brentford Lock. I represent a ward called Brentford West, which is the first ward you find if you move East from Brentford (but not  as far as Brentford East)

Wards are simply made up supposedly on a basis of evening up the population to be represented.They are not definitive boundaries but seem to get treated as such. With demarcation lines which politicians love.The Parish Of Brentford runs to More or less where Chiswick Park Station is located and there is a  boundary stone inside the Triangle Nature reserve to this day.
