Is this open now, does anybody know? If so, what times? Can't seem to find out by googling!

When you say THE HUB Pat... are you referring to the new cafe?I think think that the changing rooms and toilet could have had a more fitting colourlike dark green. The old buildings all around look great. The new builds look a touch "ballymore"Photos on REAL BRENTFORD facebook site.

Forget the house Guy. Any idea of when a toilet will be opened for park users. Tennis players and dog walkers are fed up peeing in the bushes

I think the new Hub building would look more in place on an industrial estate but I haven't seen inside yet. Does anyone know when us general public will be allowed to see the newly renovated House?

I visited Boston Manor Park yesterday.Boston Manor House and it's outbuildingslooked in "spick and span" condition. The lawns look in immaculate condition.Historic trees await your visit.Sad to see that the old cafe has been demolished. It's replacement has a "Ballymore" look about it and the new pathways over straight!Photo's on the REAL BRENTFORD facebook page.

Well, you should insist that they don’t visit then. Can’t have one rule for the plebs and another for the nobs. That wouldn’t fit with your core socialist ‘values’, would it?

I don't think it has anything to do with LBH. If Hounslow insisted a royal announced everything in advance, follow a route defined by LBH and used the transport the council demanded, and complied with what the council determined and ignored royal house preferences and police commands I rather doubt we'd see a royal at any time.

Agreed Peter. When King Edward VII came to the area in 1903 to open Kew Bridge, schoolchildren had the day off so they could join the crowds on Chiswick High Road and beyond to cheer and wave their flags.Maybe Hounslow Council and our Authorities know more about the minds of some of our local inhabitants than they let on.

But with our previous Queen, I thought we had people lining the streets wherever she went!
Peter Evans ● 792d
Did you not insist she came by public transport or, better still, on the Royal Bicycle? After all, we all want to be shown a good example by our betters, eh?
Simon Hayes ● 792d
It's completely security. We were told a couple of weeks ago but not who. I was hoping it was Mick Jagger. Lara thought it would be Jimmy Choo. We were told a couple of days ago it was HM the Queen Consort. At all times we were told we must not say anything.Whatever you think about royals, any incident involving her would be horrible for our prestige, even if no harm was done to the target.

They often don’t advertise royal visits like this. Select groups might be invited, such as school kids, because they have an associated interest and obviously those directly involved. It’s mainly for security reasons and logistics.

Having just read Guy's weekly report, I just wondered why the royal visit had to be kept quiet. What were they afraid of a few locals turning up to welcome her to Boston Manor? Also so far as I recall what were the stables for the House is now and has been for quite a while living accommodation. On a plus note Boston Manor Road is remarkably clean and litter free so I suppose we should be grateful for something. Rant over.

What did you expect from L.B.H.?
Vanessa Smith ● 793d
It's starting to seem very cliquey already, not unlike Pitzhanger Manor and Gunnersbury.I really hope not.

Payback by the socialist Roundheads for the Battle of Brentford defeat.

What a shame that us local people weren't aware that there was to be a Royal visit. Anyone any idea why?
Pat Kingham ● 794d
Officially re-opened by the queen yesterday .. which doesn't mean that it's actually open obviously.

Are the community rooms upstairs handicap accessible?
Audrey Walton ● 794d
It absolutely will be a resource for the local community. Hopefully opening late April/ May with the museum open 12 noon to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday - and the cafe seven days a week. The catering tender comes out soon - as does the website. The top floor will offer three meeting rooms for corporate and community use too.The restoration and building work have been a huge project, and snagging is almost finished now. I am hoping that everyone will come along to this free to enter museum.

I'm told it will be April or May

Only it was supposed to reopen last autumn but ... usual story.

So far as I know the work on the House is finished but no idea about how the place will be run. Maybe they are waiting until the works to the Park are finished.
Pat Kingham ● 803d
A lot of promise at the tours about local artisans and restoration specialists doing workshops and lectures and suchlike but it's all gone very quiet. Does not seem to be targeting local community but early days.
