Simon started fundraising after his daughter Chevaughn, now aged 10, was diagnosed with leukaemia last year. She has been receiving treatment at West Mid and Great Ormond Street and Simon wanted to raise money for both hospitals. On 27 October Simon took to the skies for a sponsored parachute jump over Maidstone. The 12,000 foot skydive took just 6 and a half minutes to complete. “The night before the jump I was terrified, and going up in the plane only made my nerves worse” said Simon “But as soon as I jumped out with the instructor they disappeared and I would love to do it all again now”. The parachute jump was the latest in a number of fundraising activities that Simon has organised including having his head shaved recently. Simon is now collecting items for a car boot sale next year. The money raised will go to charity.
