Has anyone experience of reusing old glass frames by having new lenses put in them? I have a couple of pairs I would like to reuse, but I am uncertain of who to go to, and whether it is a good idea?

Apparently there will be a new Boots store and a new Specsavers Shop amongst the retailers opening up on the Ballymore / Brentford Project site Sarah. No doubt they'll be keen to get visitors in the early days of their opening. You can haggle between them!

Thanks for the comments. If anyone has experience of the on line companies, would love to hear …

I recently had new lenses put in my existing frame by Vision Express with no quibbles. Not sure how online services work, as there’s usually a lot of tweaking and adjusting to make sure a pair of glasses fits and works properly.

I my experience, opticians ask if you want to re-use the old frames. This could easily be more expensive than using an online opticians, though.

Sarah surely any optician selling glasses can do this? I have had new lens put in many pairs of glasses, in fact I have a new lens prescription after cataract surgery that I am having put in my last two frames. Costco is the big recommended place to go here.
