Get stuffed

Having purchased one of the first copies of Shirley’s SUPERWOMAN sometime around 1975, I have oft wondered about her famous quote – ‘Life is too short to stuff a mushroom’.It wasn’t the ‘wisdom’ of the words which struck me, but the strange notion that somebody might want to subject the humble mushroom to such a procedure?Anyhow, the answer to one of life’s chores was in front of me in Marks and Spencer today.  There, sat on the cashier’s conveyor belt, was a pack of stuffed mushrooms.  ‘Succulent mushrooms piled with lemon enhanced creamy cheese.’ 8 for £2.49.It got me thinking – What would you like to stuff – and with what?

Crumbs! I was hoping there wouldn't be any more responses to this thread.  You are placing me in a difficult position, Jim - having to use up my allocation of postings to reply to you, Sir!Look, could we not go for a quota of words like you do on text messaging?  per-raps?Individual digits won't work as that would seriously not conform to the spell checker, don't u think?;-)

Oh dear Sarah!  I think this belongs to another thread!!!...but seriously, I have stuffed large, flat mushrooms with a recipe which included breadcrumbs & bacon for a dinner party and everyone enjoyed them.The M&S ones sound delicious.
