Simon Anderson
I have followed SImons' fundraising with interest , admiration and respect, on this web site and in the local papers.I lost my 17 year old son, James to cancer last August, so I know exactly what a terrible time Simon and his family are all having to going through. When you are at the hospital (as I was for for 7 months) raising money to make the children on the ward lifes better in anyway you can is about all that you can sadly do for them all. You would not believe how incredibly brave all the children are when knowing they have cancer and having to go through the grueling chemothearpy treatment. Every child greets you with the hugest smile each time you walk through the ward. My family and friends did fundraising for James. Originally it was to try and send James to America for pioneering cancer treatment, but sadly after James lost his battle the £10,000.00p we raised has been set up into The James Naughton memorial fund where we plan to provide children on The Teenage Cancer Trust Unit in London with what ever they can possibly need on the ward. (you can see an article about our fundraising on James' website www.jamesnaughton.co.ukI feel that Simon should be given very bit of support in what he his trying to acheive, not be slated. I can not believe that members can turn Simons' fundraising into a political debate! To say that Simon should be down the job centre. I was not able to work for the 7 months James was ill. because I was at the hospital by his bedside. Like all the other parents, some of which had not been able to work for 2 years because their children had cancer. Keep it up Simon, and I admire you so much for trying so hard to help so many children. Fran
