"Saving Our Sky" in Brentford.

I've been reading reports that the Ealing MP Rupa Huq is celebrating  victory in a battle to build more tall skyscapers near their High Street.Plans for a 26 storey tower scheme have now been turned down.She was amongst over 2000 objectors to the Scheme and had used the words like "monster", "white elephant" and "sore thumb"But most of all ...she used the phrase"STEALING OUR SKY"..... most telling and effective.Looks like it's too late to say that in parts of Brentford. The High Street will be in shadow most of the day ...won't it?

In parts of Brentford Dock we used to experience beautiful sunsets. Not any more!

Exactly Guy.Before those Ballymore Buildings were erected ..and at those heights ...sunshine prevailed ...and the sky too!

I had a look on the High Street this afternoon. The North side was bathed in sunlight but the south side where there are buildings was in the shade. It's the same within my flat and when those pesky trees have grown above me.

If one is walking down one of those lanes...with a pavement / cobblestones just 3-4-5 metres wide...and flats either side 40-50 metres high...they'll surely be little opportunity to catch the sunlet alone the daylightAm I bonkers ?Or are there shortcomings amongst our posters!

It already is. The difference for much of the day on the North side of the High street is very apparent.It's all to late the damage is done and simple give a justification and a mandate to keep approving more.
