First Meeting of the Brentford & Syon Area Forum - Wednesday 19th July 2023

The first meeting of the new Brentford & Syon Area Forum will be held from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday 19th July at Brentford Free Church, Boston Manor Road, TW8 8DW. The meeting proper will be preceded, from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., by a "Marketplace" where stalls will be operated by several local organisations and council departments. We believe that this is an opportunity to improve the representation of the needs and aspirations of the community in Brentford.  Our dear friends in Isleworth and Osterley, together with Hounslow South, now also have a separate Forum.We would encourage you to make every effort to attend this first edition of the Forum.

If the local Forum is made up 100% of Labour Party members ... who may be required to toe the Party line ...(as may well be the case)...is that satisfactory?Would alternative views and suggestions from members be frowned upon?

Dan Bowring ... that's good to hear Jim as he seems an experieced 'stand up speaker ... and we won't to  be subjected to to the ums and ahs brigade! Vanessa mentions "Lime Bikes". No doubt"Gates" will be mentioned too!A new topic perhaps should be "riverbank mud" !The gravely riverbanks at  Strand on the Green and at Old Isleworth are so superior to the stinking sewagy deep mud (and car tyres) at Great Brentford which ought to be dredged and removed.It's a health hazard surely.

From what I've heard Jim, the replacement Forum for Isleworth & Brentford did not get off to a roaring start, and certainly did not provide 'an opportunity to improve the representation of the needs and aspirations of the community'. So Good Luck with yours, could be an interesting meeting as Lime Bikes are on the agenda!
