Re: Freedom of Information Act 2000 response – FIR009548 Thank you for your request for information to the London Borough of Hounslow which was received on 11 July. We have now processed your request and our response is below. Request: 1. Please provide the total costs of providing the bays for these bikes, and how this has been funded. 2. Who decided on the sites of the bays and what criteria was used for this. 3. How will the scheme be evaluated after the six-month trial has finished. Our response: 1. Please note that implementation of the bays has not yet been completed so all costs are estimates: Implementation of bays £70,000, Additional staff cost £20,000 TOTAL £90,000.The costs of delivering the scheme will be initially covered through the council’s approved Kerbside Strategy budget and Parking Revenue Account, with this fully reimbursed as the dockless e-bike MoU fees become due.2. Site selection work is undertaken by Senior Parking Engineers, and then reviewed by a wider project team. The final decision is taken by the Assistant Director for Traffic, Transport & Parking in the form of a Chief Officer Decision. Details of the criteria used can be found in the decision reports here dated on 18th April 2023 (item 7).  3. All responses will then be evaluated alongside others received by the end of the trial to inform a decision on the scheme, in conjunction with an analysis of wider scheme data. The response to your request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
