Old Cooker and fridge?

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask but, here goes!  My partner has invited his whole family for Christmas Lunch, that's 11 adults, 4 grown up children and 1 dog.  Fantastic I said, but where are we going to cook a turkey big enough?  He said, "Oh you'll think of something".  Can't tell you what I said to that.  Anyway, the purpose of this ramble is to ask if anyone has a second hand fridge and/or a gas cooker that they would like to dispose of?  They don't have to be fantastic as I won't be using more than once.  We do have a car big enough so we can collect.  All I have to work out then is where on earth they are all going to sit!  Oh and the sprout mountain........................ye Gods!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, but I still need the fridge and the cooker!!!!Here's hoping!Does anyone know of a fee add paper in Brentford?

... I heard this voice the other Sunday-lunch-time saying how she now understood the point of a hostess trolley and that, plus a new liking for hydrangeas must be a sign of getting old ...!I would go for the cooking the night before and the re-heating in the gravy the next day -  works very well.Could always ask Father Xmas for a Hostess trolley …?    ;-)

Try buying one or two turkey ''crowns'' which consist of just the breast meat as most of the rest goes to waste anyway. These will fit in a normal size oven ok. Marks & Sparks do a good one or Tescos are ok also.

Long time no see Karen! Now why don't you just try my goose-cooking method?Dig a nice big hole in your garden (or get the dogs to do it for you),let a decent bonfire burn down to ashes, wrap the bird in layers of foil enclosing all the stuff you want with it, bury it in the ashes then build another bonfire on top. Leave for as many hours as you think right.The size of bird you can cook is limited only by the energy your partner is prepared to expend in digging!

Hmmmm or maybe see if one of your neighbours minds you using theirs if they arent using it...I do hope your partner will be peeling/chopping/washing up!:)

hi karen maybe you could cook 2 turkey slightly smaller than one big one and cook them christmas eve then carve them and put them in the fridge in a big dish  all you have to do christmas day is reheat and cook in gravey thats what we do we also have lots over for christmas this we find is our best option hope this helpsTake careDebbie
