Local mini-festival this weekend, if you're looking for things to do
Hello all! Recent-ish arrival to Brentford, having grown up mostly elsewhere in SW London.Wanted to draw attention quickly to a local mini-festival I’m helping put on, this Saturday the 9th. It’s part of Open House (the wider pan-London festival where unusual or historic buildings open up and offer events, tours, etc) - at the Brentford & Isleworth Quaker Meeting House, near Syon Lane station, we’re opening up from 10-4. Visitors are invited to wander around the building and (if the sun holds up) enjoy our gardens - learn a little local history, let kids run around in the grounds, etc. Entry’s free, and everyone’s welcome - the main building has access via a ramp, and includes an accessible toilet, though the grounds can be quite uneven. We’re also offering various creative events, including a show from a local art group, a half-hour chamber performance by the Syon Early Music Group, and a couple of creative workshops. Most of these are free, though if possible registering in advance helps us plan numbers.Details including address etc are on our site at https://bandiquakers.org.uk/open-house-2023/, drop the organisers any questions via the contact details on there. Hope to see some of you there! (And, if I do see you there, any local restaurant recommendations warmly received…)
