I remember you raising this, NV, and I have raised it with TfL a couple of times, and finally have a respons:"Thank you for contacting us regarding the traffic signals at the junction between the A4 and Boston Manor Road. An engineer has investigated your enquiry and looked into the operation of the traffic lights at this location. The traffic signals here operate under an automated traffic control system called SCOOT.  This utilises detection to monitor the number of vehicles and then uses the information to vary the green signal time on each approach to the junction.  During our investigation, it was found that part of the detection at this junction is faulty, meaning green signal times on street not being based upon real time traffic demands. While we wait for the fault to be fixed, we have updated the operation of the junction; these adjustments provide a longer green signal time for Boston Manor Road and have been observed to improve queues on Boston Manor Road.The A4 westbound receives a short green signal while all other approaches are held on red. This is to hold eastbound traffic heading into central London in order to reduce congestion and blocking of the junction at Boston Manor Road. If the eastbound was to run for this additional period of green signal time, then it would block the junction of the A4 / Boston Manor Road, preventing Boston Manor Road from moving when it does receive a green signal due to the A4 eastbound traffic blocking back."

Thank you guy but the TfL response is pure unadulterated, I am sorry to say, crap.  The issue is not due to a fault but simply down to bad traffic planning by TFL. It takes only 10 minutes of observing the junction to see the issue. To reduce queues on Boston Manor Road, all that is needed is a left eastbound filter. The timings have been shot for a good couple of years this is not some transitory fault. Please don't be fobbed off and, while I appreciate your efforts, it is time to  get the portfolio holder, Councillor Dunne to earn her corn and actually engage with TFL to resolve this problem for the residents of Hounslow and Ealing.Thank you again Guy for at least eliciting a response.

That's a load of nonsense.The A4 westbound seldom ever jams up going west between Lionel Road and Boston Manor road - unless there.s and incident or roadworks.It does now and it is the junction of Ealing Road.The problem at Boston Manor road is the Eastbound having no Yellow box and the eastbound A4 traffic suddenly stopping for the loop  junction lights not being in the right phase. Even buses and and HGVs block the cross traffic at the junction causing tailbacks on Boston Manor Road often as far as Boston Manor Station.The extended green light westbound is not in sync with the eastbound loop which may be a fault but it's been like that for one heck of a long time.How can they not know this?Whilst the road works does cause a bit of a problem the real problem is the incredulous mess up at South Ealing/ Ealing Road junction.It's obvious to every single road user and particularly if you are stuck on a bus or turfed off it when the long delays cause drivers hours to run out.TfL do not seem to give a fig and LBH have been really lackadaisical. Not a work from the transport portfolio holder all just left to Guy who seem to get fobbed off by his TfL Pals and his LBH which given his efforts is appalling.

what about the roundabout in A4/Ealing Road?25 sec green, 1.25 redAnd what about Brentford Bridge traffic lights? they are completely out of synch
