We 'discovered' Sam's Riverside relatively recently. It immediately became our favourite treat restaurant in London, we have been there five times in a few months and we are so looking forward to the opening of his new Sam's Waterside restaurant. I don't think Sam will be abusing the late licence conditions but do respect one new resident's apprehension that some other businesses might turn a new residential area into a noisy area quite late. I've only complained about late noise once, from the Magpie and Crown past midnight one warm evening, and Scottie quietened it down at once. No problems since. But when we lived in Kew we had Russian neighbours who liked going to sleep at 8pm. When they called the Richmond noise team onto us at 10pm when we had an annual party, I invited the two nice young guys in and they said no, the noise was not at all unreasonable. Around midnight we'd had some louder music for dancing but quietened it right down and when the noise guys came back they said it was still fine and they'd put the Russians on their vexatious complainers list!
