Far more transparency and in particular for this who hold cabinet posts.ie what affiliations and memberships they have of various pressure or lobbying organisations ie XR, Just Stop Oil etc who run courses to subvert and infiltrate mainstream politics at all levels. And yes if it means also declaring being a member of the AA, RAC or Acton Model Railway club then so be it. But it is important that we know exactly what a candidate standing for or holding office rally stands for.But the fact that none will really come on this or other sites and engage with local people - except Cllr. Lambert is very helloing given their enthusiasm for all things online.

No, but I, and I sure others, would appreciate far great (actually any) visibility from a Cabinet member drawing a significant allowance 5o address the manifold traffic and transport issues in the borough

I can take or leave blogs in general, some serve the blogger as much as the reader.I think our council has some answering to do regarding things like being included in the pages of Private Eye a little too often and those answers will never come in a blog.

Whether one agrees or not with Cllr. Lambert, he does do more than many other councillors put together and does turn up and speak with anyone. He's known for answering emails and getting back to people. It would be good if a few especially those who are more behind some of the main issues affecting Brentford would take the trouble to actually engage rather than avoid as has occurred even when present at public meetings where some of their responses have been toe curling.
Much as I enjoy Guy's weekly blog (and his stand-ins when indisposed) would you really want a blog from every Councillor? I suppose it would be good if they all at least occasionally took a turn.

Makes you wonder what the cabinet member with the transport portfolio does for her £35,000 plus annual allowance. At least Guy Lambert engages with the electorate.
Very slow traffic into Brentford today and yesterday, its down to all the traffic lights in Brentford in a very short distance. On LBHs watch, but they dont seem to be doing much about solving the issue.

So true I just thought that just maybe common sense had been realised but alas L BH have no common sense. Silly me!

The traffic problems are caused by all the other works and the sheer amount of HGVs which have to use the London Road and Isleworth routes to get to the A406 and M4

The temporary lights were switched off earlier on Monday, no traffic jam into Brentford this morning. However they were switched back on this afternoon and low and behold traffic chaos again. They seem completely pointless to me. As far as im aware there have not been any traffic problems into and out of Morrisons.

Just like the A4 and near Kew Bridge.Uncoordinated, and limp objections from LBH. With complete fob offs from the parties involved. But virtually no action from Council Leader, Senior officials and the Transport portfolio holder. It goes against their principles and other interests to dare rock the boat with TfL or National Highways.I suspect one or two are rather enjoying the chaos in the belief it will drive people out of their vehicles. And cow tow to a Public Transport authority who's focus is on Walking or Cycling. When bus shelters carry posters discouraging bus use you know something is really wrong.Maybe they should try the buses which are equally shambolic from the utter chaos which has been largely created and poorly managed.People do not all work from home or on a laptop in a cafe. If that were true we would not have and economy or any traffic chaos.

Four sets of traffic lights with in 200 yards is a motoring nighmare.

LBH need to sort out the temporary traffic light fiasco in the High street quickly. Gridlock eastbound into Brentford Town Centre last few days and as they say Action speaks louder than words.
