Another beautiful dream by Thomas Kincade? In real life the flowers would not be blooming so close to the ocean, the salt laden winds burn the shrubs, at least in Oregon's coastal climate.    Thanks for the lovely picture anyway Jim. I wonder how many people dream of a cottage by the ocean?

Thanks for cheering up my morning Jim, so colourful and the Lake District picture truly beautiful. Tell me were you the photographer?    We are having a typical Oregon coastal day here, the wind is blowing, it is raining and the temperature is chilly outside. Not fit for man nor beast, and Toby our dog is unaminous in that!

That delightful picture was taken by a lady called "Virgo Merry"  and she has added the following notes:Butchart Gardens, Victoria, B.CHere is the famous Sunken Garden where the old limestone quarry was in operation many years ago. The steep sides of the quarry are hung with ivy and Virginia Creeper.On the lookout here, the garden spreads out fifty feet below.In the background, a tall kiln stack is all that remains of the cement plant that once was here. No visit to Victoria is complete without a visit to these world famous gardens. I'm fortunate to have been three times and each time it is different depending on the season. Each season has it's highlights.The gardens are visited by more than a million people each year.Another picture of these gardens follows:

Yes Catherine, the third picture looks like Butchart Gardens,B.C. to me also.    It has been a long time since I visited Victoria but I remember thinking that it was more British than Britain!

Where was the third photo taken Jim? It looked a bit like Butchard Gardens on Vancouver Island, but it could be somewhere completely different! (Haven't visited for a long time, so may be mistaken... - might have got the spelling wrong too...)

I had a meeting with some clients in Hove last Tuesday Jim and that was the exact view we had afterwards when we went to The Royal China Garden Restaurant on the front.The picture could have even been taken there.
