Buy Wise Hardware store Albany Parade

Our local hardware store Buy Wise in Albany Parade is due to close down in March.  The lovely lady has been running this store for almost 20 years - so she has items for 50% off - so please spread the word to pop in and pick up all bits that you may need.  I bought 5 x 40w light bulbs for £5.00.  Originally the bulbs were £2.50 but you can bag a bargain and get them for £1.00 each. Or wrapped in a pack of 5.  Ideal to make the most of these offers and stock up your cupboards for a bargain.  Buy Wise was my go to store for emergencies or storage boxes, or any other bits and bobs.  So whilst we can still support our local stores - please do pop in and have a look around - and spread the word.  Such a shame it is closing as that was where I got my keys cut and to have a lovely chat with the lady owner at the counter who unfortunately will be retiring earlier than she expected :(

Hounslow are redeveloping with a car free development, no car park and increased living density. Not properly factored in adequate servicing for any retail or small businesses either. Just pretty pictures of a utopia. Heaven knows how many who will love there will make a living as vans and transport for many given the hours for many who currently live there work anti social hours.

Crumbs!  Even I can wire a plug. The b-L-ue wire goes to the left. The b-R-own wire goes to the right Anything left goes up the middle.Hope she sells her stock.  Are the landlords redeveloping and replacing with a skyscraper?

Brentford used to be packed with useful and slightly quirky shops that sold those vital things which people now Merrily spend vast amounts more for on Amazon.So many were service shops like Glaziers, picture framers, and speciality places that attracted customers from further afield.Most have been killed off by vast rent hikes, developments that don't factor in operational needs and the internet.The rent hikes being melted out by property speculators buying up in advance of the new developments are likely to wipe out what is left locally.

Sadly, all of the local hardware stores are closing. We have lost four locally in Ealing in the last 20 years. They were so handy but sadly Ealing seems to have moved into an era of 'get a little man in' rather than have a go which is easier than ever with guidance on YouTube. I still chuckle when someone pays £60 to have a plug changed or £80+ for a washer on a dripping tap.I wish the lady at Buy Wise a long and happy retirement.
