We had all bus services under the one umbrella of London Transport originally set up to bring order to the chaos of private bus operators in 1933, London Transport Executive was later formed in 1948. Now we are back to having umpteen private companies with TfL trying to bring order and some sense to it all, back to the chaos. The LTE had very high standards for drivers and timetables as many of us can remember, properly and rigorously trained and tested. Inspectors checking those drivers, checking fares - checking bus timing, turning buses where required - all gone. Nothing learned from the original overarching point of setting up the LTE in the first place. Ditto, the railways, the utility companies, what a mess.
