I was surprised to hear the river is used for coal exports. Green agenda? We should open our mines and export our coal, a good boost for our economy.

It did indeed for a large bridge! US coal exports mainly to India and the EU for power generation. Back in the day the Dock was primarily used for getting coal from the North of England off barges onto the rail network in the South.

Getting back to the bridge,I was dumbfounded when I saw it fold like a pack of cards so quickly. It must have been a hell of a trouser filler for anyone on the bridge at the time.

Not at all,but it makes sense that if we have to use some coal for a while until other power sources can replace it fully, then we should mine our own and import as little as possible.
You two sound like net zero denialists! Unlike LBH!
That's what I thought!

There are some mines still open and we should invest in them and import less coal.
