Syon Park Music License application

Application has been made to LBH by Big Marquee Company Ltd for license to Supply  alcohol,Live Music, Recorded Music, Films, Dance and more. Timings Monday to Saturday 0800-midnight. Sundays 0800-2300. So 7 days a week. The Notice of applications have been posted at the bottom of Syon Park and on various small trees . There are no signs on London Rd, Brent Lea or in fact anywhere close to residents who would be dramatically impacted by the nightly noise. Many local people will only be aware once the music starts when it will be too late to complain. If you consider that this application is unreasonable please email licensing@hounslow.gov.org.uk There is one new notice on the gate by Brent Lea Rec leading into the park.

I also forgot to mention the new license application only runs from 1st May until 30th September. So not an annual license. During this time many of the trees around Syon Estate are in full leaf and these act as very good sound insulators.

I agree with David. To be honest Syon have the Marquee there for nearly twenty years rather than seven - and in past years it has been closely managed, with little or no complaints.

The reality is the Marquee events have been going on for the best part of 7 years with no major noise problems. It’s an application to renew an existing license with another company. As some of you might know my apartment backs on to Syon gardens and we have never been troubled by any disturbances over there. Kew Gardens is much more noticeable when they have events on and living under the flight path is way more disturbing especially those early morning 04-30 wake up calls! Besides the Duke employs many local older persons. less events there would mean personnel losing their jobs.

Wonder if the good people on the river boats have been informed?  The noise will penetrate the boats even more than the houses.  Then there is the effect on wildlife along the river.  I wonder when they measure the direction of the noise, how high it goes into the new flats all around the park.Can you imagine, a late night event at Kew, at the same time?

The Duke's residence and gardens occupyabout half of Brentford TW8and he's down to his last £500,000,000!.I acknowledge that we all have access to Syon House and Park and they are a delight.Some spectacular events are held there as you know.The Duke probably donates to local Charities and "keeps in" with theCouncil ... but a 7 day licence for noise does seem a bit much.
