Amen to that. Anything that promotes higher air quality can only be a good thing. Despite the clunkiness of the cycle lanes (not to mention floating bus stops) and the inconvenience of their implementation, hurrah for cyclists - and for public transport, especially electric buses. When we visit other towns and cities, the ones we remember with most pleasure are the ones that aren’t choked with traffic and fumes. Where everything can be safely accessed on foot and the air doesn’t smell and taste of exhaust fumes. These towns and cities probably went through the same battles, but came out ahead. Mr Khan took - and continues to take - a great deal of flak for ULEZ. He was and is right and his third term as mayor proves this. Soon enough, we’ll all wonder how anyone ever thought otherwise.
