Could the Hounslow Loop be given to TfL?

Reading about the planned nationalisation of South Western Railway it occurred to me that this might be a good opportunity to bring the suburban part of that network under the control of TfL making it part of London Overground.This could lead to a significant reduction in ticket prices and a more joined up service.I'm sure rail nerds out there will provide good reasons why this isn't that easy to do but there would be significant benefits for Chiswick and Brentford.

With Ruth Cadbury now leading the transport select committee, the chances of this happening have increased significantly. She uses the services and will understand immediately the benefits to switching to TfL. Lower fares for local commuters would make her very popular.

Hounslow loop services were never particularly bad service wise. Even in years gone by in BR days or former franchise owners daysThey cut the number of services back after covid and they never returned as working from home took hold. Its got new trains, stations are refurbished in part or full. There are lifts or plans for lifts.Not sure what else Tfl could do better with the money available.

I haven't travelled on this line into Waterloo for some time. Are the morning rush hour trains still absolutely packed? If so, the resulting fare cut if TfL took over would create capacity issues. I don't know how much scope there is to increase capacity by longer trains but, if there is, this would be great.

I believe this has been on the menu from Sadiq (and probably Johnson before he U-turned) for a long time. It would make sense to me but there will be a lot of such decisions to be made.
