is anyone scared of the DENTIST or is it just me

Hi all im the worlds worst at the dentist i end up hyper ventaling before they have even got me in the chair and i have to be put to sleep to have my teeth done. "This country's Dentists are the laughing stock of the Western world"I don't think it is the dentists who are the laughing stock but the general state of British teeth.  This is not necessarily the fault of the dentists but the fact that many people do not have access to an NHS dentist.  In some parts of the country hundreds of people will queue up to register when a new NHS practice opens.In Brentford are quite lucky in that we are well served by NHS dentists, so we have no excuse for having poor dental hygiene!

This country's Dentists are the laughing stock of the Western world. Have you heard all the jokes Americans make at the expense of our teeth? Thanks for the tip Debbie, I tried the Boston Manor road one and found it to be rubbish.

The Dentist that Debbie sees must be really really good because Debs is so scared of the dentist that i used to have to take her eldest daughter for any dental appointments. Then on other occassions i have had to go to the dentist with debbie where as she goes in, you'll see her face turn as white as a ghost and start shaking!On another occassion Debbie had to go to the white house in southall to have a tooth removed, she had a general aesthetic,each time i tried to clean her mouth she would nearly be sick all over me, then she kept saying that they had pulled out the wrong tooth! so i made the dental staff check. Then i had to carry her to the car, at our mum's house i had to carry her inside!all the neighbours came out wondering what had happened to Deb.so in light of this i think that dentist is a miracle worker!ha!ha!ha! on the next trip to the white house i'm going prepared with the following item......a check of which tooth is to be removed,one sick bowl and a wheel chair!ha!ha!ha!

Went to see Mr. Bhogal this morning, and had a filling put in which is substantially larger than the rest of the tooth.Health tip - don't eat pork scratchings!

AnnGood to hear that you had a "pleasant" visit to the Dentists.Remember those days with the Gas Mask and Nitrous Oxide!!?

Debbie,We have a new young dentist in the practice which I attend, and today he filled my tooth and cleaned and polished the rest for me.  I can honestly say it was the best ever visit to a dentist. He didn't look much older than my great grandson Richard! (Well, that's an exaggeration, but he does look very young).At my age, anything to save the life of any one of my collapsing molars is a bonus, but this young man introduced himself to me and shook my hand when I walked into his surgery!    Thanks for your good wishes.

excellent, i've been meaning to get my teeth cleaned for quite a while now.  wonder how much that'll set me back?  :)i need to register with a GP in the brentford area as well ... can anyone recommend where to go?

Dentists aren't what they used to be Debbie.  I've been to some butchers' shops in my time and have found myself screaming just having my teeth brushed, but these days they seem to be able to do everything with the minimum of pain.Mr. Bhogal at the Bridge Dental Practice in St. John's Road, Isleworth is particularly good.  If yours ever lets you down, I would strongly recommend him to you.
