Brentford v Swansea - Boxing Day

I urge everyone to get to Griffin Park on Boxing Day to witness the top of the table clash between The mighty Bees and Swansea.If we win we go top. Not a bad Christmas present.

Sob...sob...!I was surrounded by Liverpool/Arsenal and Man U. fans while watching the results yesterday;  I was amazed at their sympathetic reaction to Brentford's defeat!!!!I was amazed that they were even aware of The Bees recent winning results, and wouldn't have been at all surprised at having my leg pulled when they lost to Colchester, but no way!Sportsmanship is alive and well and living in Dungarvan....!

Well of course the answer is to get Bill Gates interested in Football, and in particular Brentford. Put new money into the Club, unlike a Glazer disaster. Then Martin could stay, and do a Pauil Jewel. Think of it, New 60.000 ground at Western International. The old ground a Heritage site like Highbury. Last but not least a Heritage Trolleybus Route, the old 657, from Kew Bridge, via Griffin Park to the new ground. A helicopter pad for Bill to fly in from Heathrow. Oops that Paddy Irish at 43% is strong stuff. Happy New Year to all on TW8.

It will indeed be a sad day when he goes, but it is good that he is ambitious because he will need to be successful with Brentford in order to impress a larger club.  Better for us, IMHO, than somebody who has been there and done it and is looking forward to retiring to Southsea in twelve months' time.

I dont think Martin would leave Brentford for a club playing in a league lower than he is currently managing in. As he has stated before he considers Brentford a stepping stone for himself as well as any player he manages. You cannot blame him, at least he has been open with the fans from day one.It will certainly be a sad day when he leaves The Bees after all he has achieved to date. When the day comes Im sure it will be a team currently in the top half of The Championship [Stoke City,Wolves E.T.C] Or a mid table bottom half Premier side [Charlton,Everton...OR WEST HAM UNITED !!!] My own opinion of the latter is that if The Hammers had not been promoted from The Championship last season,Alan Pardew would have been sacked and Martin Allen installed at the helm at Upton Park.

That's reassuring.  I'd like to think that if/when we do lose Martin Allen it won't be to Wycombe or Leyton Orient.

Shouldn't think so because Lenny Laurence was there as well, obviously scouting prior to the 'transfer window' opening in January I would have thought.

Listened live from Australia. First half sounded fantastic. As the match carried on I started to get worried. Brentford have conceeded late goals on more than one occasion recently.

It was great to see a crowd just short of 10,000 at Griffin Park. And even better that the result went The Bees way !!! So often in the past Brentford have lost infront of a big home gate. Lets hope the home attendance continues to rise.

AudreyI think it's called not wishing to tempt fate.The way Brentford played in the first half against Swansea it is difficult to envisage Stockport County pulling off any surprises, but these things have happened before.Chelsea in the 4th round would be top drawer, although there would be war in the Andrews household.

A great victory on Saturday at Tranmere a ground that traditionaly is a poor one for The Bees!!! It really has set the Boxing Day clash with Swansea up nicely. I would hope to think a crowd of approaching 10,000 would be in attendance.
