What I cannot get my head around with this whole farce with Balraj Sarai and the ruling Labour Group and indeed the latest scandal regarding Cllr. Mir which made 'Private Eye Rotten Boroughs' this week, is the disparity in the treatment between them and Cllr. Guy Lambert. On the one hand, Cllr. Lambert has been treated very harshly for speaking out and 'uncomradely' remarks, even being expelled from the Labour Party, but a lazy, invisible chancer taking public money sits back for almost three years doing sod-all, and another councillor closely involved in a serious fraud, who apparently cannot fill in forms with the correct information, is let off by the laughingly called 'Standards Committee', allowed to scrutinise others and even given another post, plus over another £9.000 a year to boot. Has anything happened? Rumour has it that this councillor would also like to be the Mayor for the coming year, would anyone, knowing the Labour Groups' form bet against that happening? How is the vast difference in treatment explainable? Or, is this a case of not what you know - rather who?
