How much for a ticket at New Cinema

At last a new cinema.But the report does not mention the regular ticket prices.We go to the one in Kings Cross or Chelsea as wife gets a company perk ( a bit like Waterman's had with GSK employees.But a normal ticket ( which I have to get) is never less than £20. and the concessions are £18.50So it's not really going to be affordable to the average person in Brentford is it?The lovely place in Chiswick is super but super expensive too.Or is there a different local pricing that got omitted from the report?

I was told, when I asked, that they are on the second floor and that there is a lift. I walked up.I suppose the one on the ground floor is deemed 'accessible' - well obviously not to me ...

There is a toilet on the ground floor at the Chiswick, to the left before you get to the stairs/lift.

I called by the cinema today and talked to a very pleasant 'man in charge'. He told me that there is going to be two Silver Screen p.m.s. with tea and cake served. I either didn't ask him the price or he didn't know quite yet - don't remember. Another bonus is that the screens and toilets are all at ground level. I mention that as at the Chiswick Cinema the toilets are on the second floor.

We took out a basic £95 Everyman membership, which gives some free tickets and discounts. But the real benefit is 2-4-1 on Mondays, excellent if you are a retired couple. We go to ActOne quite frequently and love the place. It is a very quick and easy bus trip. E2 to Julien Rd then E3 to ActOne. You can also catch an E3 in Chiswick. On one return trip we had a total of one minute to wait for 4 buses.

nice to see the affordable cinema at waterman's has been replaced by somewhere charging double the price! it may look nice and have fancy seats etc, however Brentford is a working class town of which the community has already been ripped apart and destroyed! all for gentrification! some of us actually liked the way Brentford was and its history etc and loved the community feel of the place! unfortunately like the affordable cinema at the watermans all has made way for high rise brown boxes and gails same as the rest of london....

One supposes it depends on what kind of cinema experience people want, although there’s only a finite number of people who will travel to Brentford and pay top dollar. The two cinemas in Ealing are cheaper but struggle to fill their auditoriums, despite having a much larger hinterland to draw from than Brentford.Perhaps the Everyman will maintain its margins by regular hiring out of the venue.

27 March now confirmed as the opening date.It will be fascinating to see how it goes. The area clearly needs to gain more momentum and the cinema could be the catalyst but I worry that if people are right about the price point, that isn't going to happen.

Almost certainly to start with this type of place will be very expensive on the ticketing front - £18 maybe..similar to Chiswick, which is probably busy because everyone is a millionaire in Chiswick these days, and Barnes Olympic studios the same. But the thought of someone plonking down next to you eating a quarter pounder with cheese is not appealing at all. Bad idea cinemas are struggling. These guys need to wake up.

ActOne is great but, as Guy says, a bit tricky to get to from Brentford on public transport.I like to go to the cinema quite regularly so I prefer to keep the cost down so the Everyman is likely to be a rare treat for me. It may turn out a bit like the Chiswick Cinema which doesn't seem to be struggling despite being very expensive. I presume they have sold a lot of memberships and some people may like to be seen there simply because they like it to be known they have paid a lot for their ticket. Whether there is this kind of business in Brentford remains to be seen.

It's in Acton High Street close to the Town Hall and on the same side so easy by a 207 or E3.Used to be Acton Library .They do a wide gamut of films including current releases and blockbusters.As does the Ealing Project which does need a bit of support if it is to survive.

Those velvet sofas won’t stay very plush for long if greasy pizza and beer gets dropped on them!I wonder why people would want to eat quite that much while watching a film.

I used to enjoy popcorn and a drink whilst watching a film in a cinema when I was a child.I don't know why an adult would want to do the same.I take a tube of sweets with me sometimes,it reates no noise or distraction to others.I usually have my food before I go.

I can think of nothing worse than ‘food and drink brought to your seats’, particularly if it’s during the film. I tried that once in a cinema and found eating in the dark posed certain challenges!

ActOne is really good and very good value as is the Ealing Project in the High St. Cafe is good value too and both have good staff but the cinemas both have great seating good view lines and excellent sound and optical quality.But best of all both offer really good value.Bit nervous that the one in Brentford may not . I really hope it is not going to be another 'exclusive' venue and detrimental to the large amount of local people who do not have deep pockets.

Car journey is similar if it's the right time of day and you find a car space. Public transport will tale longer

The two cinemas in Ealing are considerably cheaper than Chiswick and Brentford for a full price adult ticket. The Ealing Project has tickets on Tuesday at a bargain £6.60.Easily accessible by bus from Brentford or plentiful parking there should you prefer to drive.

I went to the Chiswick Cinema for the first time to see A Complete Unknown. It cost £13.00 for a concession. That was an afternoon performance - whether it's the same in the evening I don't know.A friend has told me that the Ealing Cinema does an introductory deal or some such which is £35.00 and for that you can go to six screenings. I don't know the finer details.
