Traffic Problem on Twickenham Road.

There is total disruption at the junction of Twickenham Road and Park Road due to road works. There is a long tailback of traffic on Twickenham Road moving north. The temporary traffic lights let five vehicles through about every five minutes. No workmen seen on site this morning.JimL.

I agree. I am allowed (IMO) to be light hearted. My friend from Isleworth who was caught in the jam laughed with me, and every time I meet with her i ask her how life is like in the Hell Hole that is Isleworth.I did accede that Isleworth in reality is more attractive than Maccu Picchu, Monte Carlo, The Grand Canyon and even Hemel Hempstead.

Road works are frustrating at the best of times, but we have to put up with necessary improvements.What really annoys me is when works have been completed (as appears to be the case at Busch Corner yesterday, 30/10/25, and the traffic management remains in place. I have tried to raise this with LBH but haven't managed to reach anyone who can speak off script.  Also annoying are repeated  works at the same location. The road works at Busch corner have been causing traffic mayhem for a couple of weeks and now we have now got another contractor digging up Brentford High Street causing further major disruption for all road users! They making a right mess of the entrance to Augustus Close and this is after it was recently “Traffic Calmed” by LBH/TFL. Why on earth are these works not carried out at the same time? Guy Lambert mocking it in his blog certainly not helping the situation.

Pity the people who live in roads off Park Road, a friend of mine who lives there has had an ongoing correspondence with several councillors, officers and people from the hospital trust regarding access to their homes and a care home situated there, also the parking for hospital staff which will be badly affected. All to no avail.Add to that the headlines about two councillors, Dunne and Sampson, on the front page and the looming council elections, not looking good is it?

Now, I wonder if Guy Lambert always makes sure he has at least one passenger in his car when he goes out in it. If not then surely there’s a hint of hypocrisy in what he says.And like a true socialist he seems to have as much idea of how to run an economy as Robot Rachel and her clueless chums.Quite a feat for your ‘grown up’ Labour Party to increase the fiscal black hole and make everyone worse off in just 15 months. It’s nothing to do with Brexit or Liz Truss, but policies implemented since July 2024 that’s killing business.

I'm a miserable failure as a cyclist because despite my personal girth I am completely unable to block the road. Of course, usually I can't even get there to create my block because the road is blocked by people on their own in cars, keeping the economy going, no doubt, by going to the shops.
