A rather badly spoon fed press release by TfL and not properly checked.On 9 November 2019, the route passed to Abellio London operating from their Twickenham (TF) garage using existing New Routemasters. At the same time, the route was rerouted to South Road instead of Wellington Road in Fulwell.On 2 March 2024, Abellio London was rebranded to Transport UK London Bus.The route will be retained by Transport UK London Bus using brand new Wright StreetDeck Electroliner EVs from 7 November 2026. At the same time, the PVR will decrease from 17 to 16. With the daytime frequency being reduced from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes.The actual news is that the service will decrease and journey times increase.The spec for new buses is far lower then the rather elegant and civilised 'New' Routemasters which at least compensate for the dreadful delays and extended journey times cause by restrictions to traffic flow pretty much the length of the route. Just compare the timetables from 2015 to 2025. and 1998 to 2006 where journey times actually decreased.Plans for full EV conversion for the NRM fleet were quashed by the Mayor simply because he hates the 'BorisBus' and loathes the heritage aspect of pretty much anything in London.
