Not sure how true this is!“So people keep pretending Zack Polanski and the Greens are squeaky clean… let’s not rewrite reality. Here’s a quick rundown, so keep this in mind if you're even considering voting Green and for that crazy party. So let’s start with dodgy Dave aka Zack Polanski having to recently apologise after spreading dodgy claims about police during a stabbing incident. Jumped the gun, got it wrong, then tried backtracking.• Made comments after antisemitic attacks suggesting fear might be “perception vs reality”… which didn’t exactly go down well.• constant issues in the Green Party with candidates posting antisemitic or outright unhinged stuff. It keeps happening, which raises questions about vetting and actual morals?? That old gem about hypnotherapy being able to increase breast size… yeah, that resurfaced for a reason.Very hardline rhetoric on Israel/Palestine, which some people who would most likely be stoned to death and chucked from buildings if they actually went to places like Gaza and spouted their nonsense .• Policies that are completely unrealistic things like all hard  drug legalisation, open-border-style immigration (although we basically already have that one), heavy state control of housing, and giving priority to migrants and people on benefits.• he Regular clashes with the media when they actually question his ridiculous policies. He’s one of those types. say it first, half-apologise later. And the rest of the crazy Green Party? Repeated candidate scandals Internal divisionsMore focused on activism than actual governing Deluded ideas… but not always clear how they’d actually work in realityMost of them don’t even know what gender they are and all come with blue hair, nose rings, and pronouns. So trust me when I say...They’re not the clean alternative some people try to sell. Damn most aren't even clean full stop! They’ve got their own serious deluded issues, contradictions, and controversies. This is a Jeremy Corbyn-style party but on steroids. If you support them, fair enough, but I suggest you wake up and seek professional help immediately. Let’s not pretend they’re above criticism. They are dangerous, crazy, anti-British, antisemitic, racist, far-left nutjobs.People acting like Zack Polanski and the Greens are some clean, wholesome alternative… really? Let’s be honest for a second.• Just recently had to apologise after sharing a misleading post about police during a stabbing incident. Even the Met called it “misinformed.”• Made comments after antisemitic attacks suggesting fear might be “perception vs reality”• Ongoing antisemitism issues inside the party not a one-off, this keeps coming up again and again.• Two Green Party candidates were literally arrested on suspicion of stirring up racial hatred over alleged antisemitic posts. We’re talking posts like claiming attacks on synagogues were “revenge.” and basically deserved...• More candidates exposed for conspiracy stuff and extreme posts some even got suspended, or dropped.• That bizarre old claim about hypnotherapy increasing breast size resurfaced and won't go away and didn’t exactly help credibility . He even lied and said he never claimed that, even though there is actual evidence proving it.• Very aggressive stance on Israel, which his unwashed crazies support all that does is fuel division and overlap with the antisemitism rows. And he has the nerve to criticise Reform UK and Nigel Farage and call us on the right far-right and dangerous?? Zack Polanski and his crazy crew are nothing but hypocritical, narcissistic, self-serving, antisemitic, anti-British, racist, far-left haters that need to stay away from any sort of power...So my point is  don’t vote Green just to punish Labour, because you’re voting for literal hate. I get it if you don’t want Reform, so are just doing it to avoid voting for them. But maybe vote independent if you must, because I promise you Green isn’t the answer.Anyway, that’s another weekly Sunday rant from DTL. Happy Sunday.”

I have no visibility of anti-semitism in the Green Party. Our leader is Jewish as is (at least) one of our local officials. I have never heard an anti-semitic remark in my local party and would call it out if I did.It seems a couple of candidates in another part of London have made anti-semitic observations on social media. That is completely out of kilter with Green Party values and the matter should be dealt with quickly and decisively, if true (I am not in a position to judge, nor do I have any power to do anything against a member). There is no room for prejudice against Jews or any other religion in politics (or anywhere else),Recent events in Golders Green, where I understand a Muslim and two Jews were stabbed is completely against anything I believe in, or the Green Party policies. I am shocked and upset that some Jews are feeling they are under attack and we must all stand against that.My close Jewish friend, who lives in Austria these days, called me as soon as he saw footage on YouTube of the arrest of the perpetrator. My friend was very upset with thepolice, and them kicking the perpetrator in the head twice. I was shocked too, when I saw it, but I also know a number of (mainly ex-) policemen and I urged my friend to mellow his reation. It looked bad, but remember the fear under which the police were undoubtedly acting, including the possibility of a bomb that might blow them all up.I love this country, partly because its inclusiveness and good relations. Of course it is not, and never has been perfect, but perfection is what I argue for. There are people with rotten beliefs and rotten activities whuch sadly affect all parties and all parts of the population. I call it out when I see it  and I will continue to do so when it happens, and so should all Britons.

Unfortunately you don’t know your duties as a Councillor, one of which is to ensure democratic process is adhered to. Everyone knows that Labour Councillors ignore democratic process but one would have thought that, as a Green, you would now apologise to residents for blowing a raspberry at democracy by signing off on the Church Street LTN which was voted more than 500 against with only 18 in favour. Even as a Green you find yourself unable to apologise for your abhorrent behaviour as a Labour member. You still try, pathetically, to defend your action with a fantasy that the Church Street was in some way congested. Absolute rubbish!!  The road served as an important thoroughfare to Syon Park and West Mid but obviously was annoying to some of your alleged Isleworth friends who lived there.  You aren’t a friend of Isleworth and never will be. You are responsible for causing traffic chaos and unprecedented pollution affecting three schools. As a cabinet member you failed to address pollution and fly tipping. You failed to address street cleaning and litter. And then you even failed to impress your Labour masters who set extremely low bars. You also seem to be unable to extract data on Social Housing and have no idea about illegal immigrants living in your Borough. As for political ambitions ending in tears - well yours have, haven’t they. You’ve now had to resort to begging the irrelevant Green Party to accept you. Fortunately they have nothing to offer constituents which you could possibly stuff up. PS. Please stay away from Isleworth.

Either you can't read or can't be bothered to. I know maps can be challenging but the one for Chiswick Medical Practice (as I have said more than once) is inviting patients from TW8. Like any business (and GP surgeries are businesses) they are entitled to seek clients. The practice I use would have my recommendation because the service is prompt and professional.I am open to facts (unlike some) so where do you get those alleged facts about 31% in 'social housing granted by the council'. I don't claim to be an expert but my understanding is that asylum accommodation is the responsibility of the Home Office, not the council. Some accommodation is provided in the private rental sector by companies like Serco, also paid for by the Home Office. If you provide data in a professional manner I will respond to it. Of course, the location of asylum seekers in Hounslow does put pressure on some local services but 2100 is much less than 1% of the population in Hounslow and very few if any in Brentford.Church Street: there was no democratic vote, though there may have been a consultation. I was a brand new councillor when that closure was agreed over 10 years ago so I never was much aware and I don't remember the details. I do remember passionate claims from both sides of the debate, like the closure of Albany Road (in my ward) to Alexandra Road a little less long ago which was expected by some on this forum to cause chaos, just as closing the North side of Trafalgar Square was supposed to!I listen to professionals actually, and in my experience they have a better grasp of matters than people whose only engagement is complaining on social media. And I am sorry your doctor service cannot provide prompt response. Mine can, and nearly always does. There is a solution available to those who can be bothered to read.

Again, Mr Lambert is being disingenuous or is just thick if he doesn’t understand how GP surgery patient allocation works. It is a fact that you cannot get a same day face to face appointment with a GP. For emergencies you’re referred to phone for an ambulance or dial 111. The fact that some surgeries are open to receiving new registrations doesn’t mean you’ll get an appointment. Far from it. Mr Lambert is also being particularly devious by posting a link to a Chiswick Surgery which won’t accept patients from TW8!!!  GP surgeries generally want more patients to register because their funding is directly tied to the number of patients on their list. In the NHS, a significant portion of a practice's income comes from a "Global Sum" payment, which is a fixed amount of money per registered patient. British Medical AssociationAs Mr Lambert will know:As of mid-2025, the London Borough of Hounslow houses a significant number of asylum seekers, with estimates indicating around 1,500 to over 2,100 people in contingency accommodation (hotels), making it one of the top boroughs in London for asylum hotel usage. 69% were placed in hotel accommodation and a massive 31% are in social housing granted by the Council. It is a fact that those illegal immigrants who are afforded Council Housing are given preference over British Citizens on the Council Housing waiting lists. Mr Lambert claims to obtain his information from Academic Reports or people who work in the sector but he refuses to acknowledge that the Nuffield Report he swears by is based on now irrelevant data obtained nearly two decades ago. He also discounts information provided by teachers and head teachers who could advise categorically that immigrant pupils who cannot speak English are holding back English speaking pupils. Mr Lambert once again demonstrates his inability to accept public opinion on these matters just as he refused to accept a Democratic vote regarding the Church Street LTN. Does anybody want such an arrogant Councillor who refuses to listen to professionals and can’t accept facts. His current behaviour under the alleged Green banner appears to be even more desperate as his arguments are plainly nonsensical.

Guy I want a pint of what you have been drinking. Firstly, you told us about your marvellous doctor in Chiswick who sees everyone the same day.  However I and most of your residents live in Brentford and the usual time for an appointment is 3-4 weeks. As for illegal immigrants being housed in Hounslow  I have no knowledge, I will ask my  local councillor, oh that's you. Perhaps you can enlighten us all. I certainly do not have supporters who rant at people in the street. We leave that to the people like yourselves who see anyone whose views differ from yours as right wing extremists rather than people who have not been brainwashed by a left wing ideology. However, I would ask if we are housing these people on council taxpayers expense, why, as under the Immigration Act 1971, Section 24 these people are criminals having entered the country illegally. As for our children being held back by the introduction of many children from the third world who cannot speak English nor understand our school system, having just arrived in the country or are the offspring of families who do not integrate, how do you even have the gall to say it does not affect our kids. Instead you proffer a report from a government funded think tank. My daughter is a head teacher and I can arrange for you to meet her and her staff so you can learn firsthand the strain this is causing. its not just about teaching these children the basic ABC, many have never seen indoor plumbing nor learnt about personal hygiene and then it's about trying to communicate with their parents, most of whom come from countries with no formal education system or no health care system, so no records are available to staff who have to try and extract this information from the parents. Yet you and your leftwing woke mob say diversity is working and our children are not suffering. Frankly you're away with the birds. Now we come to your proposition that everyone should run around using google translate. Well I think even the greens, whose policies range from the bizarre to insane, will laugh at that idea.By the way Guy, just when did you undergo your road to Damascus moment, leading to your conversion from red, white, to green. Was it when you thought, oh dear,I might get my arse kicked out so I'd better join the greens so they can deliver leaflets for me.

More nonsense from Lambert. It is practically impossible to get a same day face to face appointment with a GP on the NHS. If you have a serious enough condition the GP will refer you to phone 111 or go directly to A&E or call an ambulance. This is just another fantasy of Mr Lambert’s. Yes, it’s easy enough to use Google Translate so one wonders why Mr Lambert, as a Labour Cabinet Member for years, never tried to save £millions by cancelling the Council’s Translation services and stopped the waste in printing translated documents into multi languages. Surely the Council should simply be referring everyone to Google Translate or similar?  Why waste taxpayer money when something is so simple as Mr Lambert proclaims. It is a fact that teachers are losing multiple hours in assisting pupils who can’t speak English. This is to the detriment of English speaking children who are held back in learning other subjects. Mr Lambert only needs to talk to any teachers who have immigrants in their classes. The Nuffield Report is from over a decade ago in 2012 and refers to research held over a decade prior to that. It was true at that time (as per the report) that the vast majority of immigrant children were from European Countries with education systems far superior to UK State School children and many, if not most, could understand at least some basic English. That is not true of today!  The demographics of immigrant children is now vastly different with the vast majority coming from Non EU countries - mostly from third world regions of Africa, Middle East, Pakistan and India. Mr Lambert is being disingenuous at best or ……Mr Lambert is quick to deny that immigrants are afforded Council Housing in Hounslow but he hasn’t provided any information as to where the Asylum Seekers are housed  while they are being processed, or even after they have been processed, whether they be successful or unsuccessful with their applications. More importantly he hasn’t divulged where the Greens will house illegal immigrants in Hounslow Borough!!

Amazing that everything will always be wonderful in Lambertland. Do you not think that your experiences might differ from those of others, usually the ones you patronise and/or dismiss?Seeing a GP can be difficult in some areas. Advertising for patients is no indicator of good quality care or ease of access everywhere. It can be a lottery. You, by dint of your age and existing health issues, will be a priority case so will be seen ahead of others. Has that not occurred to you?The NHS is great when there’s an emergency that needs urgent care, but the real issue is when patients need ongoing treatment. Waiting lists are still far too long and in certain health conditions, particularly mental health, the timescales are dreadful. Then you wonder why those who can afford it pay to go privately to jump the queue. Doesn’t fit in with the rise-tinted socialist view but even the Labour government Guy supported to the hilt (and probably still does) can’t fix that.Where bigger problems will arise will be at hospitals such as West Middlesex if local populations grow rapidly (as they are forecast to do in Brentford and Ealing). Pop down there and talk to the A&E staff and see how happy they are. It’s not immigrants that will cause the overloading of infrastructure but the untrammelled overdevelopment without ensuring the services can cope. Maybe the Greens will build a new hospital.English comprehension should be encouraged but schools are really suffering from the lack of investment from government, particularly around SEND provision. The bottom line for everything is money. There’s nothing in Green Party campaign material to indicate that they have the first clue about how economics works. A wealth tax and a carbon tax? Substitute those for non-dom loopholes and VAT on private schools, in the Labour manifesto in 2024, and you can see how the logical conclusion is that it will mean ever increasing tax burdens on the already squeezed middle. By ignoring that you are being dishonest. There’s no such thing as a socialist utopia, Cllr Lambert. At your age you should have realised that. To think it’s possible is delusional.

Simon Hayes ● 53d

Bob you're either very badly informed or deliberately misleading. I can see my doctors nearly always same day, and they are advertising for additional patients in Brentford, Chiswick and Kew.You can see the qualification rules for council housing on the LBH website - "You must: currently live in Hounslow, have lived in Hounslow continuously for the last five years or for five years out of the last seven years."It was probably one of your supporters who ranted at me that I was going to put illegal immigrants into the private development at Great West House over which I have no jurisdiction or power whatsoever and actually followed me down the road repeating this nonsense.I agree people who don't have English as their native language should learn English asap. Translating for those who needs assistance is not expensive these days. I just translated that into Italian: Oggigiorno, offrire servizi di traduzione a chi ne ha bisogno non è costoso. ANd Hungarian:Manapság nem drága a fordítás azoknak, akiknek segítségre van szükségük.And Hindi:आजकल जिन लोगों को मदद की ज़रूरत है, उनके लिए ट्रांसलेट करना महंगा नहीं है।Children are not held back in the way you allege in any significant way https://www.nuffieldfoundation.org/news/children-whose-second-language-is-english-do-not-have-a-negative-impact-on-education-outcomes-of-native-english-speakersEverybody here has to abide by our laws. That applies to 'these people' whoever they are as it does to everyone else.I agree there is a need for a better system for student costs for doctors (and others) as there used to be before the Thatcher government abolished it and successive governments took degree level education from free (as it atill is for students up to 18) to first £1000 pa up to 9000pa and now more than that. Grants were also withdrawn. That certainly needs reform as do a number of other idiocies that have built up over the last 40 years (for example- people who work for a living pay much higher tax than those who live off investments)

Guy Lambert ● 53d

That's a good question. First he was red then he was white and now he is green. I often speak to Guy he is a proud left winger and truly believes in that ideology. I on the other hand am a true right winger and a member of reform. What I stand for is: The people who have worked all their lives and paid into a system regardless of race colour or creed to be treated fairly and by that I mean access to all services before those who are here illegally or who have not contributed:The right to be seen by a doctor without waiting monthsThe right to be housed firstThe right for their children to be educated without being held back for others who cant speak EnglishThe right for us to demand that those who come here integrate by learning English so we don't have to spend millions on printing in different language'sThe right to demand these people abide by our laws (when in Rome do as the romans do).Getting back to Hounslow I once after talking to a school  Head Mistress at the area meeting in which she told me she had many bright young people who wanted a career in medicinebut could not afford it as the 4 year training to become a junior doctor came to £250.000 so I suggested that the borough pay to train 20 each year at a cost of 5 million with the proviso that they must stay and practice in the Borough for five years after qualifying this would help cut waiting lists due to ever expanding population of Brentford and the Borough I thought this could be easily paid for out of the 13 million a year the borough makes from parking fines, alas no I am told that's all for bicycle lanes and training doctors is for the NHS now that's socialism if ever I heard it no imagination just same old same old.

Seems that Guy has a very simplistic view of drug addiction and how difficult it is to control, even when the drugs themselves are decriminalised. I wonder if he’s ever had first hand experience of how utterly dehumanising addiction to hard drugs is.The two countries usually referred to as the benchmarks for this policy are Portugal and Canada (or rather British Columbia, as the only province to approve decriminalisation). Both have had problems, not least the cost of operating this system. Portugal still sees a high volume of illegal trafficking due to its lengthy coastline, while it’s a tiny country with a population of just 10 million, not much more than the population of Greater London.  It’s unlikely there would be anywhere near the resources to manage the numbers of people in the UK requiring assistance for this ‘public health problem’.If it falls on the NHS where will these units be? In British Columbia certain jurisdictions have stopped treatment centres being located there due to issues with those attending them. Of course Cllr Lambert would no doubt be happy to volunteer his Brentford riverside flat as a welcoming place for the hard drug users to shoot up in safety. The talk of controlling drug addiction in this way is a red herring. Alcohol addiction is an ongoing problem in the UK and despite huge efforts to wean people away from it hospital admissions remain stubbornly high. Increasing taxes on alcohol doesn’t reduce dependency, it just puts those reliant on it into financial hardship. Would a drug policy be any more effective, particularly since there will be widespread and easily accessed black market for those who really want it.Maybe Guy needs to do a lot more research into the effects of drug addiction. The psychosis, even from supposedly soft drugs like cannabis.Polanski has latched onto this as a way of trying to present himself as a serious politician, which he is not.

I agree Andy, which is why I spend a lot of time on Facebook, here, on Bluesky and Substack explaining my activities and my views. I have published 520 weekly blogs on my activities and opinions, and I am often surprised when people when I knock on doors or meet them, express that they value the efforts I make to improve Brentford, Hounslow and the country, and tell residents (and anyone else who wants to see them) of my opinions and activities. This is not a trivial enterprise, probably taking me at least a full day each week. There is a subset of people with whom I converse online comment on Brentford TW8 and Brentford TV.This thread seems to be started by a Reform candidate who now lives, apparently, in Ealing. He doesn't bother to say anything about the policies he supports, which got him a not very impressive vote of 1.6% of the electorate in the 2024 GLA election.Of course, he is a Reformer, so he see his job is to spread disinformation to promote his right wing views. I don't have a solid opinion on some of the matters he provides such misleading caricatures of, but will respond on one of them.Re drugs, my view is that it is perfectly clear that the current policy doesn't work. Other approaches are being trialled in various countries and places, like some states in the USA, in Portugal, and in Scotland. I believe the main change is to stop trying to deal with drugs by police action. Government has been doing this since I was a student 50 years ago and has clearly failed. As an active councillor, I see the impact of this failure: too much police time wasted on trying to catch and prosecute an endless supply of offenders, and many residents upset by the impact on their residential areas. At worst, violent crime, often involving knives. Sensible countries are changing from this and moving towards a  public health approach. It is not a simple or always successful, but has much better outcomes than either alcohol prohibition of yore in the USA or our own prohibition in England now.I am not going to deal with the other matters he mentions, I think very few of which are Green Party policies. I refer interested people to the very comprehensive manifesto  from 2024 https://greenparty.org.uk/about/our-manifesto/ and the current Hounslow council manifesto which is much more relevant to Brentford and what I will be working for https://hounslow.greenparty.org.uk/hounlow-green-party-manifesto/I am happy to discuss this with anyone who (preferably) bothers to read the manifesto, preferably in person or via email to guy.lambert@hounslow.gov.uk and particularly if they live in Brentford West, where I serve and wish to continue to serve.I am very aware of my own imperfection but I do and will try to live by the Green values:"honesty, fairness, efficient and competentmanagement, empathy, working for you..."
