The disgraced past Mayor of Hounslow: Dashan Grewal & wife

The news item about the Grewals on the front pageis quite appalling but in some ways it's not a total surprise to me.Readers might recall their involvement with the Hounslow West Social Club/ Night Club farce ... when Mr Grewal denied all knowledge of his wife's application to have a late night extention at their Club until 3am. He was a liar.I had met the Mother of DJ involved who told me that her son had been asked by Mr Grewal if he would extend his hours until 3am!There was much local newspaper publicity about this matter at the timeIt's incredulous that the chap was chosen by the local Labour Partyto be their Ward candidate at a Local Election. Terrible that the local Electorate voted for him ... terrible that his Labour Party mates thought he was the ideal chap to be the Mayor for a Borough with 200,000 residents.Maybe his dodgy behavior is acceptable is his Community.Is his dodginess just the tip of the iceberg?

Yes that's why it's so important to call it out and highlight it whenever it happens,otherwise the 'well, they're all at it' attitude panders to it.

“is it down to a sleazy and enduring sense of entitlement?”It’s par for the course of Labour politicians nationally but Hounslow is riddled with sleaze. Has been for decades.

Yes, yes, yes. We all know that the Labour Party in Hounslow is steeped in scandal, dishonesty, corruption and bullying. Nothing new - it’s been like this for decades. They only get votes on a ‘you scratch my back’ basis. Who else in their right minds would vote for that bunch of lazy money grabbers. Their collective behaviour is disgraceful.

Jim May not have noticed (or is in denial!) that the son of this couple has been a Labour councillor for at least 8 years. His sister was a Labour councillor too, until she was under threat of expulsion due to non-attendance (allegedly - she is a barrister).The son, Vickram, was selected by Labour to stand in safe (if any seat is now) Conservative Chiswick Homefields. He woke up one day and realised he was not a socialist but a Conservative. So he applied and is now one of the Conservative candidates for Chiswick Gunnersbury, where the Green Party are confident of giving them a big shock!
