“Is there a subject on this forum that can't be turned to have a pop at Guy Lambert?"Not really, considering that he is responsible for ruining so many parts of the Borough, including the daft ‘wands’ in Twickenham Road causing so many problems for emergency vehicles and ambulances. Consider that he did all these things to try appease his Labour masters. Imagine what he would now do to suck up to the lunatic leader of the Greens!!

"Cllr Lambert stuck his nose in without a care in the world what local residents wanted. And now he pretends to be Green just because the Labour Party kicked him out. It’s despicable!!"To be completely fair - the Isleworth ward councillors at the time, were far more to blame for the Church St. closure than anyone else. Twickenham Rd. has not been helped by the LTNs nearer the hospital, nor the blasted cycle lane with those daft wands.

there was a "consultation" process when the decision was made to implement LTNs across Brentford but, as the decision had already been made, it was a pointless exercise. we currently have one end of Whitestile Road closed for sewerage works for up to five weeks - because of the LTN closure to the east, all traffic is now funnelled down Enfield Road and we have delivery vans doing three-point turns on the pavement. this will be Guy's legacy as he starts his long overdue retirement from Friday - thanks a million Guy!

Yes, Anne has either been EXTREMELY lucky or is talking nonsense. Everyone I know has complained about the CONTINUOUS traffic chaos in Twickenham Road since Church Street was closed. This has also had severe repercussions on South Street and North Street as well as Worton Road and St  Johns Road. All down to the Labour Party making its own undemocratic decision  affecting tens of thousands of motorists. Cllr Lambert stuck his nose in without a care in the world what local residents wanted. And now he pretends to be Green just because the Labour Party kicked him out. It’s despicable!!

"I sincerely hope they get some return on their 6 figure investment because it seems they were really struggling to attract punters after Church Street was made an LTN by Cllr Guy Lambert and his Labour Party cronies."Church Street (where the Apprentice is situated) residents were the main force behind the closure, but the actual consultation which was across the larger part of Isleworth voted overwhelmingly AGAINST. Councillors were told of this result but decided to ignore the wishes of the majority anyway, a decision that still rankles today! So this is a yes and no thing - you could say that members were responding to the people who lived in Church St. and their demands, or that they should have listened to the vast majority. So not entirely correct to blame one councillor.

You have been lucky,Anne.I have been stuck on a 267 for ages several times on London Rd. whilst watching 4 cyclists go past in the cycle lane that takes up a quarter of the road.

Yes, but when this happens it's very often the result of roadworks here and there.Of course there will sometimes be queues and hold ups but it's not 'nonsense' Paul that I usually (on the 267) get through to what was the war memorial stop and further with no trouble.

I confirm what Paul says about the very slow traffic  on the Twickenham Road ... especially near the West Middlesex Hospital which I attended today by the 267 bus.Frustratingly pedestrians were overtaking my bus with ease!

That’s just nonsense. The 267  is often stuck in horrendous traffic jams in Twickenham Road northbound and southbound due to the massive traffic increase caused by the Church Street closure. People used to travel by car from Richmond, St Margaret’s and Twickenham to go to the Apprentice. They don’t anymore. They’ve taken their business elsewhere. There are lovely pubs in Richmond, St Margaret’s and Twickenham so the Apprentice has lost out because of the hassle to get there since the street closure.

When and where do these jams occur exactly? I often get the 267 bus down to what was the war memorial bus stop and beyond and am very rarely in hold ups apart from those caused by roadworks.I can only imagine The London Apprentice is doing okay if it's going ahead with such a make over.Do you ever get out of your car?

About time as it was getting extremely tacky and unpleasant. I sincerely hope they get some return on their 6 figure investment because it seems they were really struggling to attract punters after Church Street was made an LTN by Cllr Guy Lambert and his Labour Party cronies. It makes the pub all the more difficult to get to without suffering traffic jams caused by the LTN.
