Please be less biased

I have to say the reporting on Gunnersbury park appears very biased in favour of the residence association. Todays top story, i was greeted by a picture of rubbish when the article was about generating money & the long article showing the residence association is demanding the park begs for money rather than earn money was very supportive. I for one believe the parks strategy of earning money for itself and taking control of its own destiny is far more attractive than the beg from government & charity approach being proposed Please reflect on the biased in your reporting of this situation

It seems to me that the local reporting of this issue, from all media, has tried to be balanced. If you can point to specific examples I stand to be corrected.A picture choice to illustrate an article can't be taken as an indication of bias. This site has done scores of articles about this divisive controversy over the years some of which have been illustrated by young festival goers enjoying themselves.

Sounds a lot like you are looking for bias towards your own viewpoint instead. I suggest you go read The Chiswick Calendar in that case, they are very biased towards the council and park CIC in their reporting.The image at top of the article gives a perfect illustration of what the park looks like on festival days. And no, the clean up is not thorough, there is still litter from years ago around the park perimeter. The events will never pay for the restoration of the old buildings. Ealing and Hounslow should provide funding for park upkeep as they do for other parks, the rest will need grants. By all means have a few events a year but what is being requested now is ridiculous.

I wonder if the 39 people who work for the CIC managing the park join in with the litter clearing. And are all these major events needed just to pay the big wage bill?

Attendees might take a leaf from the Barmy Army's book or the Japanese football fans and clear up a bit themselves.

Paradise in the city was anything but. Some very open drug taking in the Lord Nelson by some attendees after the event. Although apparently that’s okay if your a Green.Occasional events in Gunnersbury should be allowed, with strictly enforced regulations, but it is a residential area and those living there should be given a proper say in how these things are managed.

Gunnersbury no longer in my ward.I used to patrol around the park and its area during events. There was a responsibility on organisers to do clean ups in the park and surrounding streets. They weren't perfect but did a decent job. Similarly around Boston Manor Park. Last year after 'Paradise in the City' - a very badly managed event, an army of cleaners were fixing BMP, The Ride, Swyncombe etc early the next morning and did it very effectively. There were some problems within the park but again, quickly sorted.

People might actually take a rubbish bag with them and clear up their own mess.Leave the bag in the park by all means,at least it would be much easier to collect than scattered litter.But I suppose if they've spent the whole day off their nuts on whatever they are hardly likely to consider others.

The leader page picture of the litter after the 2025 event clearly showed the the litter wasn’t cleared quickly if someone was driven to take a picture of the litter left by some scum people.

Presumably the rubbish isn’t cleared quickly by the organisers which is why people get upset.

I'm guessing you're not somebody who suffers massive inconvenience as a result of these events. The piles of rubbish left by every concert are not irrelevant.And it's Residents' Association, not Residence.
