A Hard Day's Night - Thornbury Park
The report says that the park railings are seen in the opening chase. I don't think this is correct. The chase was filmed in and around the rail terminus. The scene shot in the park was of the group running and jumping about (37'30 to 39'30) - the office building (on London Rd) in the background was occupied by Permutit for many years before being replaced by the present flats. The helicopter scene may have also been filmed in the park. The film location was developed for housing in the 1980s (Stanborough Road). I grew up nearby in Elmer Gardens and we often used the park for playing football. It was always referred to as Greenhams - I never heard anyone call it Great West Road park.
