What's happened to "Arfur Fosters"

Where has the thread started by the above gone? I have a friend who is fondly known as Arfur Gallon. Could they be related?

wasn't it that peacocks was going to have a section of the store like tchibo in somerfields and didn't Arfur Fosters respond on this thread until someone told him to go somewhere else?

Hi TomI'm afraid I can't tell you about Somerfield as it's off my patch and not an issue which I'm familiar with, however my guess is that the original posting - and consequently all responses to it - vanished because the mods thought that Arfur Fosters was a made-up name.  Like Silius Soddus or Biggus Diccus. Either that or they thought, not unreasonably, that he had an unacceptably appalling taste in beer.Could anyone who is familiar with the issue please revive this discussion, for the participation of some and the education of us others?

At the risk of breaking into some cosy in-jokes and being thought a terrible bore, does anyone have a real answer to the original question?  I think it was 'Arfur Fosters' who started a thread on Somerfield's in Brentford, and Peacock's opening there, to which I contributed.  It was an uncontentious issue with five or six contributions and I'm at a loss to know why it suddenly vanished.

Could it be your old chum from the Community Group who has a habit of getting up to mischief on this forum?Perhaps 'Arfur Brain' would be a more appropriate moniker.

Arfur Fosters is alive and well and living down my street. When I see him I will ask if he is related to your friend Arfur Gallon.
