In dispute! The Great West Quarter and the 235 bus.
Local news reports, and Social Media too, mention that the 235 bus will not be allowed to drive into the GWQ because of damage to the "brick style" roadway. The ban could come in effect within two months! The Transport Authorities are apparently not prepared to pay for the roadway repairs. It's likely to becomea big issue and help from a couple of Local Councillorswould seem to be required to untangle the issue.I've spoken to three bus drivers today and they were all aware of the situation. When the Great West Quarter was planned, and permissions sought, there was an illustrated image of the site was published and it includeda picture of a bus! Thus the roadway, which is not used by cars or other vehicles, should have been built to take the weight of a bus, especially in the area that is above the underground Car Parks. One can observe today, clear indentations and cracks, suggesting that the roadway was built with poor foundations.I'm just drawing this matter to people's attention. The GHQ buildings themselves had a big problem some years agowhen it was found to have problems of a fire safety nature which required scaffolding for months.
