Charlton House redevelopment

I was under the impression that the new redevelopment of Charlton House would include shops beneath housing like it was and very disappointed to learn that it's only more apartments going up.

Barbara there are provision for commercial units (probably shops!) amounting to 1059 sq M over the 4 blocks.These mainly face to the High St and to a lesser amount to Ealing Road.I have posted plans on my blog site https://www.guylambert.blogThat might help!

I think the concern is those shops will struggle to survive and there is a greater need for social housing. I would assume as the high street is just down the road, it should be OK to have more flats, rather than empty commercial units. Rent and rates are really now...just my thought
