To be suspended from one party Cllr Lambert may be regarded as a a misfortune

It would probably be easy to assume that Guy Lambert a member of the awkward squad who finds it difficult to be fettered by any sort of collective responsibility after his second suspension from two different political parties in two years.

My impression is that his commitment to being transparent and giving constituents an honest insight into what is going on often offends a party hierarchy who would prefer we didn't know and would prefer all its councillors remain strictly on message.

That was certainly true in latter day Labour. Note that I did not even once vote against the whip while I was in Labour, and I canvassed energetically throughout, whoever was the leader.I criticised a couple of failures to act by council members (well, 2 cabinet members) privately and when rebuffed I went oublic with the criticism, engendering rage and suspension the explsion without trial.The Green Party is entirely different where I am a victim of a leadership (of 3 members 🤣) coup. I expect that setback to be temporary but time will tell!
