Ealing today new web layout…

….Oops!  I really don’t like the new layout!  I hope the other sites in the group aren’t going to follow suit…

I agree I don't like it either.  It is like the Hammersmith Today one.  I hope it doesn't mean that the Forum will now disappear like the Hammersmith Today one has.

It's been around for over 6 monthsand it's been a pain to REGISTER & SIGN INduring all that time in my experience.One attraction for me was the new facility to post photographs ... just like the old days ... when the level of daily postings was 10 times higher!Some contributors on Chiswickw4.com are able to post images these days ...and perhaps they've been able to register with "new chiswickw4.com"I just tried to join newbrentfordtw8.com but failed yet again.EDITOR:  "HELP"!    (will there be a response?)

Google states that the Domain Name "tw8.com" is currently for salefor $160,000 from "SPACESHIP.com"Fancy that!

I've generally been switching between the new and old formats for some time. There are pros and cons for both. Previously the newer version was buggy, unreliable and often down but currently seems more robust.  With the old version it is easier to get an over view of discussions and look at who is contributing to a long thread. There is an opportunity to review your post before submission which has been lost. With the new one you can post pictures and videos easily, you don't have to open each message in a thread and there is a more secure log on. It seems to me not much more difficult to navigate once you get used to the way it works.

" I hope it doesn't mean that the Forum will now disappear like the Hammersmith Today one has."Just st out of curiosity I tried the Hammersmith site for the first time.As you possibily already know the symbol for the forum has changed - it used to be a person(?) now its a pair of barely distinguishable bloated quotation marksHowever clicking on this symbol - maybe the first nineteen  attempts - simply makes the main screen blink on and off.However in this instance persistence seems to the order of the day  So that on the twentieth or so attempt, you will see the forum page with a list of posts.Beyond that I did not go,I suspect that one or more of the people responsible for setting up and maintaining these sites, both old and new is simply no longer around for some reason and is proving difficult to replace give the resources available.michael adams
