Arctic Monkeys at Griffin Park

The management team are thinking about this, but on other forums I have read that the locals would not be pleased.As you lot are locals would you be pleased?

I heard there's an active branch of the Alvin Stardust fan club in Brentford - ask at the Fire Station.

Thanks Pete.  Actually I did read about them in the paper, but was confused because I thought Alvin Stardust was the hottest property on the UK market scene.  I'll need to do some catching up.I say keep at it in any case, you never know!

Hottest property on the UK music scene, Phil! Their debut album has just become the fastest-selling album in UK music history. The connection *is* there (amongst other things Alex, main man from the Monkeys, turned up as a *punter* at a Stripes gig recently - see http://www.drownedinsound.com/content/view/603416), but the gig exists only in our heads at the moment. We shall see.

Before everyone gets carried away, can I just point out that a silly post on the Grapevine, which shouldn’t have been made, has caused unfounded rumours about this to be echoed here.  The chances of it happening are very, very slim. For one, the Arctic Monkeys don’t know about it yet :-) . I’m one of the gigs organisers at Stripes btw, so I understand the convoluted route by which this one kicked off. I’d forget it for now, folks, seriously.

I'm going to confess to have a limited knowledge of the Arctic Monkeys perhaps giving my age away but I still feel this is a good thing. I've been to concerts at Twickenham and it was great to be able to see bands like U2 a such a short journey away from home.

I'll stick my Griffin Park Residents Association hat on here and say that we'd need to know about proper stewarding, car parking arrangements, policing etc. But if that could be sorted then it might be fun. I'm not sure how many tickets could be sold given the fairly poor exits from Griffin Park but that's for the Council to decide. Anyway, aren't they Sheff United fans?

Yes would be pleased. I can't see why anyone would object if there wasn't any amplified sound after 10pm.
