Something different to make a difference

Calling all TW8 readers, their friends and families and just about everyone else.  The Friends of Boston Manor will be involved in helping plant a Meadow in Boston Manor Park between 20th and 25th March.  With some 20,000 plugs being delivered we need all the help we can get.  The ground will be prepared and for the younger or less agile simple seed scattering can be accommodated.  CAN YOU PUT SOME NAMES FORWARD AND PREFERRED DATES SO THAT WE CAN SET UP A ROTA OF WORKS.  JUST AN HOUR OF YOUR TIME WOULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE AND MAKE THE PARK LOOK BEAUTIFUL  Please contact me with offers of help.linda.massey@virgin.net or 07831 106973.  Thanks

I have at this stage only approached Gunnersbury Boys School from whom I am waiting for a reply. Will be contacting Brentford School for Girls next.  I already work with the young offenders in the park and can confirm that they are on board, thanks for the suggestions.

and the Hounslow Youth Offending Team- some of the young people are involved in community work projets there at the weekend, I'm sure they would get involved 8 583- 6363

Hi Linda.  Sounds a lovely idea, will check what we are up to.  Most of the sixth formers in the Borough have to do some sort of community work - you could try and enlist their support via head of sixth forms?  Might fit into some of their Biology 'field' studies too ... ... ! (Sorry about that  ;-))
