I cannot recall Mr William E Hughes making any contributions to this Forum other than ....IMHO....continuous unpleasant remarks about the Independent Community Group...and perhaps me too.Is it possible for him to introduce a New Topic..or submit messages to existing threads that would enhance our understanding and appreciation of Brentford?If, as has been suggested, his real name is something else..he would appear to be breaking the rules of engagement here..and ,in my opinion, he should be named and banned.So, Mr Hughes..be friendly ..let's hear more about you.

Unfortunately Jim I suspect the only reply we will receive from the Hounslow Labour Party on this subject will be something along the lines of "don't blame me guv, I wasn't there when it happened" or "we didn't have a clue what was on the hundreds of leaflets that we had just delivered".

William: I notice that you are still snipping away....but have you read this Report that I have discovered this evening on the Community Group website to do with the recent Election Campaign.  I would be saddened if you were involved in any of these happenings...as it would cast a shadow over your ongoing activities on this Forum.If correct... this Report paints a very sad picture..especially that Church bit.It's long...but its a valuable insight for us novices wishing to learn about local political happenings.http://www.communitygroup.org.uk/id3.html

Bill,You seem to have gone all quiet for a day or two!There are several interesting topics and news items on this Forum currently....and I'm surprised that you have not joined the congratulations to Stephen and others,for example, about the reprieve for St George's Church .....from the jaws of those over indulgent profit mongering developers. As an observer of the local scene..and with your sharp incisive opinions...I'm surprised you haven't commented on the Heathrow  developments thread. I mean, these affect the locality seriously and yet you're seemingly not able to make a comment!Will you be attending the first Borough Council meeting next Tuesday at 7.30?  I hope to go along and would welcome the opportunity to meet you there. It should be good theatre...the Meeting I mean!I know that you would like me to develope and explain the phase I used on the Chiswick Forum..and I look forward explaining some of these things to you sometime. But observing your style of comment..it could be troublesome.You were the poster who said "we'll be back" in relation to the recent elections?

Yes Jim you do need the support.It's a shame that people on here need to post using a pseudonym rather than their own name.Maybe they have something to hide or are too embarassed to reveal themselves unlike the rest of us who have spoken our mind (right or wrong) & have given/taken the flak but are still here.Bring back the happy & constructive site!!

WilliamI'm sure you're busy behind the scenes wondering how you can make a positive contribution to the new line up of the Isleworth and Brentford Area Committee. (6 Community, 3 Conservative, 2 Labour, and 1 Lib Dem). Who do you think they will appoint as Chairperson? Being a new Councillor must be tough job..with all those reams of paperwork, casework, and learning the regulations regarding Local Government procedures,and Planning issues.I wish all new and old Councillors well.I'm really sure you will agree with me William...or can I call you Bill?..when I say that a very competant Mayor is also  required to Chair those important meetings at the Civic centre..the Borough Council meetings.  The election of Mayor/Chairman should be a free vote in my view have no regard IMHO for freemasory favours, Clan friendships, TradeUnion fellowships..or old boy networks. We need the best. What do you reckon Bill.  Did you have anything to do with the election of my dear friend the non-smiling Mayor a year or two back? Agreed he's a gentleman..of the highest pecking order...but being Chair of Committees was not his forte in my view....especially when we're talking of Council expenditure of £250,000,000 pa..or more.Antway Bill, look forward to your observations.

Dan..What is ideally needed is for William to respond to my observations made in my opening message. Ideally he could expand any detail on his links with Brentford..and generally introduce himself...in a pleasant friendly way.At the moment he seems to be a bit of a mystery figure...not getting involved in any general subject other than making unfriendly digs in a learned way on a certain one subject. Who is he?Remember this Website and Forum is part of a business that is providing a very valuable cyberspace service to the Community. We should ensure that it is used fairly and constructively by all users...and that they show some respect for each other. We should be endeavouring to enhance the Forum..not verbally knock each other out!Some year back on this Forum, such a "new" poster as William,would have been welcomed by our dear friend Gerry Tan..who gentlemanly exchanged greetings with the new poster..and this made for a very pleasant cyberspace experience. We had a wonderful friendly Forum some 18 months back. Currently it is a great disapointment to me and many more I'm sure.  At this time of a "new beginning"..(or is it?)can "Brentfordians" not make an effort to restore this Forum as a venue for pleasant reading...and observation.I am passionate about the local area and about the well being of the Community..whichever country of the world they have come from. It's the bad behaviour of some that gets my goat..and I'm wondering if William E Hughes falls into that category.

AndyAs I understand it Mr. Evans is intervening on this thread in respect of two matters:1. To chastise me for presuming William E. Hughes to be a bogus identity in the absense of any evidence.2. To share with us his presumption that "Account Suspended" is George Burrell in the absence of any evidence.Be careful what you say to Dan, Andy.  He's an impartial observer, remember! ;-)

I have to confess to being gobsmacked that you continue with this sort of disruptive posting, Mr Burrell. You would have thought there would be some sense of personal shame that you had managed to get yourself banned and if not I am surprised that Cllrs. Fisher and Andrews tolerate it because of the discredit it brings to your group. I am not sure what stage the discussions about the formation of the new Council are at but I imagine it is a sensitive time. It therefore defies belief that you would conduct yourself in this way and possibly weaken the hand of the ICG. Cllr Andrews described your behaviour as cretinous before, a description most people would endorse. Has he changed his mind or are you single handedly determined to undermine the hard work and success of people you claim to support?

Jim, it is clear to me that "William" is accusing you of being a racist. His assumption is based on something you posted on another forum, which I have not seen, and as you have explained the thread containing your comments has been deleted. This accusation is consistant with the sort of tactics that have been used by Labour to attack the ICG and its members, which you are not. I for one have been saying that people should post on this forum under their real names for a long time now. It is simply unacceptable for the likes of William E Hughes, who I suspect to be bogus, to be allowed to get away with this. Paul Fisher has intimated that he knows who William actually is and so have I. Phil Andrews has asked for the moderators to check the validity of this person and has had his post removed. What I don't understand is that it seems to be perfectly ok to accuse someone of being a racist but the minute you start asking questions about someone's true identity you are sensored.

Not quite sure what that means Mr. Burrell but you have proved my point to a degree. If the ICG wants to be considered as a serious political force in the Borough I think they really need to think carefully whether someone of your appalling lack of judgment should be a member let alone occupy a relatively senior position in the organisation.Should the lives of the people of this borough be in any way influenced by a group whose vice-chair is called 'account suspended'?

As someone who's bona fides has been consistently been questioned simply because I've occasionally been critical of you and your colleagues I found it deeply ironic that I often find myself having discussions with proponents of the ICG who are clearly not who they claim to be. In assuming that every body who disagrees with you on this forum must be bogus suggest you are judging people by your own standards.

I posted last night to ask the moderators whether or not William E. Hughes' bona fides had been confirmed, as well as those of Vikki Baker and Karen White whose styles - and prejudices - would appear to be very similar.  My posting was deleted from the forum.A little consistency from those moderating this site would be reassuring.

Entering your name into the FORUM SEARCH box reveals little of your previous activity on this Forum. Yet you seem so well informed and highly opinionated. That's an inconsistency.If you are so well informed, why not express yourself on other matters too..perhaps non confrontational issues.I do hope that you do not have anything to do with the inner workings of the Civic Centre..or have unpleasant influences on those who represent us...whether they be Labour,Conservative, Lib Dem, Community or Independent.You have some wisdom..but your style of remarks is unworthy..in my view.

Which is your favourite pub sign? What do you make of the recently announced Heathrow Night Flights "victory"? Have you any pictures of old Brentford...or tales of yonder year?Which celebrities have you met in Brentford? Footballers? John Prescott? Gordon Brown? Duke of Northhumberland? Well well. Perhaps you would be happier if I was to join you in making unsubstantiated slurs against different ethnic minorities. You have quite rightly been disowned by the ICG for your views, all credit to them for not wanting to be associated with your type.
