Why won't this site's operators respond to emails 2

Re-posted as previous discussion seemed to lose the point."I have contacted this site on the email link they provide repeatedly over recent weeks regarding two issues. One was a defective link on the home page - still unresolved; the second regarding their offer to place a 20 word mention for local businesses in the ads section.At least 10 emails sent and not a single reply or even acknowledgement received.Inefficient and discourteous to say the least."A reply to my previous posting from Jim Lawes suggests they are easy to contact - sadly however, not the case!

Even so I would say that there isn't much that you can do about a situation like this. If an individual was causing significant problems then they have to be booted off otherwise the more positive posters will abandon the board. If the other users choose to criticise the person who was causing the problems that is their right, after all they are breaking no rule. I wouldn't have seen any responsibility on my part to someone who has been anti-social and wasted everyone's time as they have only themselves to blame. In your friend's case I don't see a problem as you could always post any responses he wished to make for him.

PhilApologies for getting it Wrong but as to the Spat Ive tried to get all this stopped but people continue to post regd it.Ive also did what George asked me to that was to stay off Tw7 and Leave him in peace..then it all dies down today and who pops up "Account Suspended" to stir things up again.Fine I will leave people to come on here and Attack me then.My Last posting Now on the Subject of me, account suspended and Tw7..................off to read far more interesting stuff.END OF POSTINGS

"So what your saying is its OK for others to post under False Names BUT not me?"No Simon, I am not saying this.  I simply asked a hypothetical question to Kevin about how a moderator should deal with a person being criticised on a forum who is not able to defend himself.  I quite deliberately made no comment about your current spat with George, because it has already taken up an amount of forum space which is grotesquely disproportionate to its importance.As you will be aware I am currently working on certain matters with potentially massive local implications which, if you'll forgive me, are far more relevant to most people's lives than who said what to whom on an internet forum.  I have to confess though that at times I wonder why I bother.

PhilSorry But I get attacked on Tw7 and get banned but I didn't see anyone saying I ave the right to stick up for myself.I just got told I was being Childish "My dad is Bigger then yours"I get attacked on here because I posted an Honest remark o Tw7 which I got attacked by the admin for and I stuck up for myself on here now you condem me for saying things back regd George?So what your saying is its OK for others to post under False Names BUT not me?Why cant everyone open there Eyes this is 1 mans vendetta against me and you are Falling for it.....You know who your friends are when it comes down to it.

Your Right There Kevin its hard sometimes Moderating a Forum as I do it myself but I am glad I got on top of it.But I agree there are some people that like stirring things up and getting others involved and getting a kick out of it.See the admin of the other thread emailed me last week and said he was declaring war on me and this is part of his game plan to turn people against me and to attack the group i belong to, which for years he was a big member off but it goes to show he is NO team player.But hey I ain't letting it get me down no more if people want to dislike me because of a person stirring it up then they are no good at judging people as if they get to know me they will realise i am a nice guy who does lots for his community and Charity Ive my Children, Family, LOADS of Friends and a lovely Girlfriend who Ive been with for 6mths and we plan to get married the end of the Year so all in all a good life.

I don't really know the answers Simon. The sad fact is that you will always get a few complete nutters who make it their business to be disruptive and no matter what you do they will come back. I had one case where a user waged a on-going campaign against another user simply because he felt the guy had disrespected his choice of operating system. Being the moderator I also got it in the neck. We couldn't stop the guy or even find out who he was because he was so good at covering his tracks. The consolation was it must have taken him hours of effort just to put up messages which were generally never read by his intended victims. He stopped suddenly one day and the general consensus was he was committed to a mental institution.

KevinMany Thanks for explaining this to me I had no Idea, it is upsetting that people can post under "James Thomas" copy my style of writing so people think its me but I swear its not me.I am being set up here by someone and its working because people are starting to Dislike me now which is totally unfair.Account Suspended is 100% George, which begs the question why ban people if they can get on under another name?Like I said before I am being Set up because I have fallen out with George.

Most IP addresses are dynamically allocated at the exchange and don't always refer to the same account so if you were to bar a particular IP address someone else might be allocated the same address later on. What the moderators could do is report the IP address and the time of misuse to the users ISP who would then close the account if appropriate. This assumes that a home based account is being used. If it is then this would be the most effective because the service would be withdrawn at the phone line level and I think ISPs share this information. Not sure why this hasn't been done yet they have had every excuse to do so in the case of George Burrell. However if he is using internet cafes or other shared computers then there isn't much they can do.I don't know why a suspended account can still post but presumably it is pointless barring an e-mail address as he could just register with another. It's probably the case that an automatic query runs on the posts periodically to delete the 'Account suspended' posts rather than somebody actually monitoring every thread all the time.I have done some moderation of professional forums myself and it always amazes me that someone being disuptive doesn't work out that what takes them several minutes to write takes a nano-second to delete but then again I learnt never to be surprised by the depths of some peoples stupidity.

PhilThanks 4 explaining that BUT we both Know that Account Suspended is George or have you forgotten all the postings he made under "Account Suspended" before the Local Elections?I am being attacked on Here for posting under Fake name over a year ago and being Accused of being "James Thomas" which Ive asked the Moderators of this site to investigate in who this person really is am I the only one that has Done this on here come on Be Honest?Its Clear that this is a Personal Vendetta against me, and Certain individuals want people to Think i am a Horrible person which is Now Upsetting me alot and I am Being Set up!

SimonI think you'll find that "Account suspended" is a name which is generated automatically when somebody whose account is suspended tries to post.  I could be wrong, but I doubt whether it is anybody's choice of username.Hopes this helps.

Why is a person who is Banned from this site still able to post under "Account Suspended"I know that after he has posted that in a few minutes the Moderator takes of His post so why Cant the Moderator Ban his IP and the name "Account suspended"

Thanks Kevin I did not Know that...O Well not much I an do to prove i am NOT "Jason Thomas" thenI wanted to know what happened to the British Justice we supposed to live by"A Person is Innocent until Proven Guilty!"Something that some people feel they are judge and jury regarding me and have already made there minds up thats fine i only have myself to blame for posting under "Jason Stanley" over a year ago but I find it Hurtful and Funny that when others have posted under assume names and admitted to it (u know who you are) they didn't get this much grief did they?Anyway Thank Kevin for your kind words of support I just want to forget it and move on now I just wish other would to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!Ive admitted to the Crime and Ive been told off for it its time to move on now this has taken up enough Thread space please let Tw8 go back to its normal status and lets read about Important issues then about me I BEG of you.

I think Simon you mean James Thomas. Different IP addresses wouldn't prove anything because it would be possible to use different ISPs. People will have to choose to believe you or not - I do but given your past conduct some may choose not to.

I posting this message on this thread instead of making up new thread.Dear Moderators.Over the past few days Ive been subject to lots of postings regarding me, in which I have to apologise to all the Tw8 users who this must be getting on there nerves by now.See last year I came on here posting as "Jason Stanley" which i did just to praise myself up and I know now it was wrong to do this and I have always from then on posted under my REAL Name and what i did was wrong and i apologise not to just yourself but to EVERYONE on Tw8.Recently a thread was introduced called "Leave Simon Alone" which was started by someone called "Jason Stanley"Some posters on here have accused me of being "Jason Stanley" as we write sort of the same way but I can assure them and yourself that I am not posting under "Jason Stanley" or anyone else.I wonder i you can check the IP address of "Jason Stanley" against mine to prove this person is no me, then i would like it if you can place the outcome of your investigation onto Tw8 for ALL to read and then remove the thread labelled "Leave Simon Alone" as this is causing lots of people on here stress inc myself and I would like people on here to Know I am NOT "Jason Stanley"Many ThanksSimon AndersonSimonanderson2@blueyonder.co.ukPS I sent this Via Private email to you aswell!!

I've had cause to e-mail them twice since registering. Once with a technical problem and once asking advice on a local matter. In both cases I got a helpful answer within a day.Maybe the problem is with your e-mail.
