Re: St. Paul's Recreation Ground - This Saturday

All, Due to the recent success of the last clear up day in St. Paul's Rec, we are calling for as many volunteers as possible to come along this Saturday and help mulch the new bed along the childrens play area.Should you be able to spend as little as 30 mins helping out in this local park, please come along at 10am and meet near the drinking fountain. Yes - but I don't remember Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee being included in British and World History 1870 -1945.And nothing ever happened between the end of the English Civil War and the French Revolution either. Which makes it hard to  understand the context of Royal Kew and why Spring Grove's Joseph Banks suggested sending the convicts to Botany Bay when King George didn't have America to send them to.Have the panel ever discussed the scurrilous rhyme "Goe no more to Brainford" ?http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/ravenscroft/pammelia/pam_13small.html

I did both. So did my children, who struggled with adult sized wheelbarrows and spades but enjoyed it.

Katherine..that was a pity about the low turnout..perhaps volunteers were exhausted from collecting 160+ sacks of debris on the last occasion.It seems a popular rec too..and when I passed by Saturday evening I couldn't resist taking a few snaps!Looking westwards towards St Paul's Church.ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooLooking eastwards towards London.ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooAnd then there is the fountain........financed by locals...to commemorate.....??? Anyone know?

That was a very poor turn out and we barely got half way through. Hopefully it can be better advertised next time and we might get it finished.

Just one thing...when you stand in front of the murals..the one on the right side nearest that tree truck, I noticed the other day a most awful smell in that area..which I could just not identify.Could someone investigate?  Do such Parks have Park keepers these days?
