You are actually old enough to have mentioned casually to Jim in 1953 that it happened to be your birthday?What a coincidence to have met so long ago!What a splendid memory Jim has, to remember you from so far back!An extraordinarily Happy Birthday under the circumstances.And whatever pills you’re on, I want to know where to get them.

Happy Birthday Paul, I'll drink your health this evening.I too was at that procession, although I was privileged to have a seat in one of the stands. Being only six at the time I managed to wet myself on the way home, something my sisters never let me forget.

When we bumped into you and your good wife last Sunday in Twickenham..after the Rugby..and your trip to Hampton Court...we spoke at one point about the significance of today..the 2nd June.In 1953, on the 2nd June, I sat on somebody's shoulders in the Mall, to watch the Queen's Coronation procession go by. It was then that you mentioned it was your birthday.In some ways it been your coronation too.  Let's hope all goes well and that your may enjoy a long reign!
