I despair of recycling and I have posted on this before. I studiously separate all my rubbish and place different things in different bags i.e. glass and bottles in one bag paper in another. I am a bit flummoxed by batteries as I only have a couple at a time but I try and put them in a suitable bag where they will be seen. Nothing is ever just put into the box without being sorted into a specific bag. Why therefore after the collections have been made are there odd items of paper and/or batteries etc., left in the box and why do I have to pick up an assortment of litter which I know belonged to me, from the street? Then of course there are the people who decide to dump unsuitable waste in my box i.e. plastic bottles etc., which the council won't take in the first place. Therefore, having sorted the recycling out once I have to come home from work and collect the litter from the street and dispose of an assortment of rubbish that never belonged to me in the first place.
