Free Chips in the Park!
Losing your pet can be a devastating experience, which is why Osterley and Spring Grove Safer Neighbourhood Team is pleased to be supporting the fourth annual National Microchipping Month in June. The Metropolitan Police, the Kennel Club and the National Trust will be holding “Free Chips in the Park” on Sunday 18th June 2006 at Osterley Park (in front of Osterley House) to encourage owners to get their pets microchipped as the preferred method of permanent identification. “Free Chips in the Park” will be held from 11am to 3pm and this is a great opportunity for local pet owners to discover more about the importance of microchipping. With thousands of pets going missing every year, implanting a microchip vastly increases a pet’s chances of getting home safely. It is an inexpensive form of identification that cannot be lost, altered or intentionally removed once implanted. The process is quick and painless and will give peace of mind to the owner as they can ensure they are reunited with their pets sooner rather than later. For vets, dog wardens, rescue centres, dog wardens, police and local councils it is a simple, practical and quick procedure that can help an individual owner and their pet.
