Local Charity Bike Ride next weekend

http://www.cycle25.org/route.htmltells me that the Chloe Catling Cycle Challenge ("Ride 25 gentle summer miles around London in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Research" ) takes place on Saturday June 24th with a start and finish at Isleworth and Syon school.The route goes via Syon Park to Dukes Meadows, off to Richmond and the towpath to Kingston and back through Twickenham. Unfortunately the diversions because of the St. John's Road bridge probably weren't known at the route planning stage so the route on the website seems to break the current arrangements.

Tim Good luck with your charity bike ride hope all goes well for you.When you reach Dukes Meadows be careful on the bends by the boathouse by Barnes Bridge the hedges are over grown so narrowing the road down to a single track, you might meet a vehicle coming the other way in the middle of the road.

TimGood luck with the cycle ride.Whilst the Duke of Northumberland bridge is indeed under demolition..in the bottom part of St John's Road..I think you will find that cyclists can still get through.As you go south towards the obstructions..you can bear right onto an alleyway..and bypass the obstable.  Maybe cyclists must demount and walk..but I'll think you'll find that they can squeeze through easily on their bikes.Happy peddling!
